USGI M14 rear receiver "halves"

Got these from Fred's years ago as M14 rear receiver halves. One TRW and three H&Rs. I had a mind to make them into a display of some kind, but don't seem to ever be getting around to it.

OK, gotta help me out here... whats a tail? (on an M14 receiver, not my cat)... Selector lug? Yes on all four.

What a sad sight---the marine corps allowed me to have my very own in 1968---it was a fine rifle (i had a real good one)-----------free BTT :s0155:

It is sad - too bad our government is so wasteful.

Such a great gun.

My dad was issued one in the Marine Corps too in 1962/3.

If the govt is hard up for money, I'll bet if they put them into the DCM (with selectors neutralized of course), I'll bet they could get $1000-$1500 for each rifle...much more for any match rifles. What is really sad is that the government probably only paid a couple hundred dollars each for them when brand new....wouldn't that be grand to have a brand new, just off the assembly line M14 select fire rifle?
