I have shot 2.75" Win "max load" (12 pellets) "magnum super" 00 buck from both of my Shockwaves (one with brace, one with raptor grip).

I don't care for shooting light shotguns with heavy loads but neither is objectionable and those are light shotguns.

Sure, you know you have shot a stout load, but it doesn't hurt - at least not at first - I wouldn't want to shoot clays with them, but who does that? They are for defense or hunting, not for an afternoon of clays or bird hunting.

Recoil of course is subject to :
Personal perception...
Weight of the gun...
Just how the gun fits you...
Shooting position / style...
"load" of the buckshot itself ... a 2 3/4 size shell may have less "ouch" than a 3 inch load...

And has been stated , you won't be shooting a round of clays with 'em...So I wouldn't let all the tales of horrific recoil , keep one from shooting buckshot.
