If the rifle is disabled when taken down, what is the point of needing to take the barrel off when one could just separate the upper from the lower?
I guess you save some inches with the upper.. but still.

Fair, but its minimal. Its more government spending when there could be other options that are available and fit the space required.

I am guessing the 4+ extra inches saved is what allows it to fit under the seat. It does seem like much to do about nothing otherwise.

10.5" rail, QD adds another inch, thread for FH is another half-inch--how long is the barrel extension? Am I right thinking this looks like a 12.5" barrel, or is it more likely a 14.5?

What I've distilled so far:

Easy Button is just buy a preassembled Midwest URG. Holy Wayback, Batman... the hardest remaining part is figuring out what kind of package they're in when loaded into a seatpan.
