they shoulda went with the ruger p series back in the day. they're ultra reliable and like a timex they take a lickin and keep on tickin.

The .mil folk apparently like the thumb safety as it reduces accidental discharges when holstering, as a backup for a trigger snag on a body covered and overburdened in gear. I'm still a fan of 1911s and thumb safeties are no trouble.Why the thumb safety that gets in the way?...
