Senator Betsy Johnson at 503-986-1716. Ceasefire is urging its' memeber to pressure Senatory Johnson to vote "yes" on SB 347 Not guns in schools and "yes" on SB 700 [Universal Background Checks). Ceasefire is asking that each of their members contact others to pressure Senator Johnson.

Conversely, please ask The Senator to vote "NO" on both bills.

Her contact information is: 503-986-1716. Her email is Sen.betsyjohnson@state.or.us

Please notify your friends immediately to urge the Senator and others to vote no on these bills.

[I don't know if you read this but Police Chief Reese suggested to the City that police officers be removed from Portland Public Schools to reduce the budget by about $2 million plus. But the Mayor thought this odd in the wake of Sandy Hook. If SB 347 goes through and the police are removed from the public school in Portland, there would not be any means to protect against potential shooting in the schools. Please contact the Senator now and your Senator to vote no on these gun bills. THANKS.

    Just an FYI for everybody.

Senator Johnson was involved in a car accident last week. She came out of it with a broken pelvis, is still in the hospital, and will be recovering for awhile.

For those of you who do not know, Betsy is a Class III machine gun owner, life member of the NRA, and firmly in the pro Second Amendment camp.

Cease Fire is wasting their money on this one, which is fine by me. :D

Since Senator Johnson has already stated that she opposes the anti-gun legislation, it's likely she'll vote our way. A much larger concern, IMHO, is that one (or more) Republican Senators will defect to the anti's side. We need EVERY Republican AND Senator Johnson's vote to keep this crap legislation at bay. Please also contact your Republican Senator, if you happen to be lucky enough to have one, and admonish them to hold the line and reject all 4 bills.

A note to Senator Roblan couldn't hurt either...
