You may not believe this, but.....

Would you trade away your 2A rights?

An interesting letter to the editor of a Maine newspaper yesterday throws out an offer that might surprise some, infuriate others and cause quite a few people to shake their heads because the author offers to swap his Second Amendment rights to "a hunter who will agree to one hunting rifle (not a pistol) per adult family member."

Count me among those that shake their head, at his stupidity.
Count me among those that are infuriated, that anyone would make a deal that abolishes or abrogates the constitutional rights of someone else.

But don't count me among the surprised.
I've known for decades there are both stupid and foolish people that live among us.
And that newspaper editors are wont to have the voices of both heard.

Talking to my inlaws last night, they brought up the subject of guns and marijuana and how "all these guns and drugs" are leading to this huge increase in mass shootings. I've been through these discussions with them before, I've shown them the facts, the real facts, not the ones they hear every night on NBC, ABC, CBS and out of the mouth of the POS POTUS. And every time I think I have them straightened out, they start quoting me from the MSM. They get ALL of their news from these sources. The only time they hear otherwise is from my wife and myself. They are indoctrinated every time they turn on the damn TV or read the paper.

This guys is likely no different. He probably gets all his information from the same sources, which means he's falling lockstep into the same routine that the POTUS gets the MSM to spread.

I recommend that folks write back as a response that every time someone proposes giving up our 2nd amendment rights, that we're going to go out and buy another gun. Every, single, damn, time.

When I first bought an AR, I never really had felt the need to own one. But people like Clinton, Obama, Pelosi, Prozanski, Bloomberg and others just pissed me off enough to buy one. I gave her a powerful name: "Spite"

Judge Kozinski speaks for me on this:

Quote - "....The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed for those exceptionally rare circumstances where all other rights have failed — where the government refuses to stand for reelection and silences those who protest; where courts have lost the courage to oppose, or can find no one to enforce their decrees. However improbable these contingencies may seem today, facing them unprepared is a mistake a free people get to make only once."

My response to this individual would be a few questions.
Are you willing to give up your right to free speech?
Are you willing to give up your right to own property?
Are you willing to give up your right to freedom of religious choice?
Etc. Etc. Etc.
Because if you're willing to give away your 2A rights, then you will have given away the Constitution of the United States of America and all the rights guaranteed by the Constitution and now you'll just be some other socialist or communist country. If you disagree with this assessment, JUST LOOK AROUND YOU DUMB AZZZZ !!! Do you see any other country that's better, IF YOU THINK YES, THEN MOVE THERE CAUSE YOU'RE NOT WELCOME IN MY UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

I don't understand why the media(Dave?) give any credence what-so-ever to wing nuts like this guy? Part of the whole issue is the media picking up some little pimple of a fart and splashing the headline, in large letters, across the front page.

I don't think this one idiots opinion is worth the trouble.

Having a hard time wrapping my head around this. So some guy is willing to trade you something you already have for something that he has? The thing is, it's an inalienable right bestowed by the creator, not a one time action. Makes zero sense to me, but some anti-gun control freak will surely promote this gobbledygook as a form of "common sense" compromise that will save lives, or some other nonsense.

I wish all democrats and their brood would do the same.
Instantly take care of the inner city gun violence they are so worried about. Would cut mass shootings by around 95% as well.
Of course, when it came time to holding up our end we could just change the subject... Seems to work for them...

I am willing to bet he would. And think you are crazy for not agreeing.

"There's another important line in the Heller ruling dealing with the militia argument. "It may be objected that if weapons that are most useful in military service—M-16 rifles and the like—may be banned, then the Second Amendment right is completely detached from the prefatory clause.""

Good catch by the prevailing justices.

Dave's article affirms it.
Took a while to come up with this.
Conversations with my kids and spousal unit
At work, at the TV, to the internet screen.
Bathroom Mirror "What was I thinking?!?"
"Are you nuts?!? What possessed you to ..."
Pass "identify the issue"
Save time and energy
We all are nuts
