You're right. It doesn't matter what system you have. If it's not used correctly, it doesn't mean squat. Same as the old axiom, knowledge is power. Knowledge is worthless unless it can, and is used. Otherwise I'd be one of the uber powerful from surfing the internet all day or having a doctorate in underwater basket weaving.

Make a security plan and IMPLEMENT it.

Did not watch video. Used to have tons of breakins during the day around here. Much less now. Seems like it is always drugged out person now vs before it was thieves.

Watch for items left on your door or window like sticky notes or similar. They know if it's not removed that person is away from home. They often do several blocks at once with this tagging but not always.

Sucks with all of the political flyers on my door.

BUT

My house can be seen on all sides and I know for sure the guy next to me that is home all the time and outside most of it has a gun and isn't afraid to use it.

We all look out for each other. I'm not friends with any of my neighbors but we are friendly.

That and having a pup that is getting bigger by the day has a very big girl bark and when I'm around she is very docile but if you walk up to my car with her in it then you will know it in a hurry.

I suspect she would be the same way with me not home.


When I am home then it's me you have to worry about and not her

Did not bother as this has become something of a waste. Those of us who carry at home do so because we know it "could happen". Those who will not believe it happens? Will not own a gun or if they have one its locked away unloaded? You normally can't reach them with some video. Most of us will go our entire life and never have to shoot anyone. So those who will not prepare have good odds they will never regret it. VERY sadly a few will only learn after its too late.
