Saw the summary from the NRA on unintentional fatalities
Look like firearm related was 0.5%

Broke down as follows

Unintentional Fatalities:

Motor Vehicle: 31.2%
Poisoning: 25.5%
Falls: 19.7%
Suffocation 5.0%
Drowning 2.9%
Fires, Flames 2.5%
Struck By Objects 0.6%
Firearms 0.5%
All other (<0.5%) 9.4%

With as much focus they have on eliminating gun ownership - looks like the government could focus on other areas.
Poisoning really surprised me.

I think drug overdose would fall under poisoning.

Alcohol Poisoning, as well.

Acute poisoning is exposure to a poison on one occasion or during a short period of time. Symptoms develop in close relation to the exposure. Absorption of a poison is necessary for systemic poisoning. In contrast, substances that destroy tissue but do not absorb, such as lye, are classified as corrosives rather than poisons. Furthermore, many common household medications are not labeled with skull and crossbones, although they can cause severe illness or even death. In the medical sense, poisoning can be caused by less dangerous substances than those receiving the legal classification of "poison".

Basically you can be classified as death by poisoning by simply having too much of anything absorbed into your system. Not too many people know that too much water can also be poisoness. Excess water taken acutely can flush out your electrolites. If you are seriously dehydrated, large amounts of water is deffeniately needed; however, you also need to replace the sodium content you lose when you sweat.
