The law is self enforceable w/a lot of chuckling going on by the LEO's. Everyone's too afraid go 'under the table', they all see subversion around every corner. Paranoia is a good law enforcement tactic. Private sales have never been the prefered means to get weapons for criminal activity. Sportsman, ie. gun owners (a generalization), are usually not predisposed to wantonly hand over their guns to just anyone. Even prior to SB941 most employed a good deal of scrutiny when making deals. I always did a bill of sale just to cover my butt just like I'd do w/a car or bike. I never met a guy who wasn't o.k. with that., I seriously doubt there are any agencies that see a BCG check sting as a worthwhile endeavor. How's that going to look in court when you've got a couple 50 something well regard individuals put up on charges for dissing a $10 BCG? I'm sure most have much better things to do w/their resources.

For me the BCG adds a level of hassle that will make a deal a non deal, it's gotta be pretty convenient or I won't even think about it. For what people are asking used for the most part anymore and the BCG BS I've been buying more new than used. There are still some 'cool' oldsters (and youngsters) out there. The government and PCness has sucked the life out of some things, throttled and tied our hands, made criminals out of good people and is trying hard to herd the sheep. I for one don't care to be sheared but will do what I have to when I have to.

Select groups are running around paranoid. That's all that's happening.

Everyone is so loud and proud when saying "Kate Brownstain" etc but nobody puts action to actual defiance (on anything - not just firearm laws).

The sky is falling

The sky is falling

Ahhhhh! Run for the hills, I heard on the radio OSP is planning a massive sting...

The sky is falling!!!!

In my town the cops have brought underage kids to convenience stores to ask people entering the store to buy beer for them. One of these little urchins tried it on me and I told the clerk about him. He went out and told the kid to stop asking people to buy him beer. The kid turned around and headed to a car that had an adult and another kid in it. Suddenly the math came together in my head. I had just busted up a sting operation. I felt guilty for about three seconds and then realized that LE had just tried to get me to commit a crime.

The State Patrol does, or least used to do that here. They take kids who are Explorers, kids who are looking to join, and have them go to stores and bars and try to get served. If someone sells to them they go out and get the handler and they write the server up.
I had to laugh a while back when we were at a Wally. Two kids stopped me and asked me if I could purchase an airsoft gun for them. Guess Wally will not sell them to anyone under 18.

I cannot tell you enough how wonderful it is to live in free Idaho where I can sell to or buy from anyone I choose. I took my enhanced carry course last weekend which will also allow me to buy handguns, rifles and shotguns from a in state FFL with no background check.

After living for so long in Washington, being there during the transition of I594 it's great to be treated like a responsible adult again
I made the move out of Washington state over 4 years ago. Idaho is like a breath of fresh (and free) air. The more I see coming out of Washington's communist government, the more I realize I made the right move. On top of that I make more here than I ever have and bought a newer house on over 1/2 acre in town for $162K. Try that in western WA.

Family member is moving there later and it's looking very tempting. When we go to visit I will be on Wife to think about it. All who live there need to stay on top of this though. All my life liberalism has had one constant. Liberals turn the place they live into a sewer. Then the liberals with money move to a place conservatives live since it's nice. The first thing the liberals then do is set out to turn the new place into the sewer they just left.

You've got that right. There are a lot of Californians moving here all the time (southern Idaho). I really worry about that, though some I have met were not the San Fransicko types.

That is exactly how CA got to be the sewer it is. Same with OR. Liberals started moving there to get away from the sewers they created. They put down roots then start trying to turn the new home into the sewer they left. Liberalism is a mental disorder.

They do that to spread their failed ideology. It's communism for our generation not liberalism. It's not Californians at all. That used to be the greatest state in the union.

Yep, CA used to be a GREAT place to live. Liberals LOVE Socialism. Many of them become very wealthy. Many of them really do believe that crap they preach though. They get their way and their homes become sewers. So those who are mobile move. CA at first was a lot of people from the east. They found places that were beautiful and prices were far lower. So they set up camp there. Then of course start in with wanting to turn the new place into the sewer they left. A surprising large number of them really do not understand they are the problem. They really believe their ideas will work. This is the definition of insanity. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. There are of course many VERY wealthy liberals laughing up their sleeves at the rubes. They only can do it though by convincing a lot of working class people to go along with them. My parents were like this. While I was growing up they were both died in the wool liberals. Both very hard working Americans from immigrant families who grew up dirt poor. It did not take me long to see the things they were always bubbleguming about were brought on them by the people they voted for. Until their deaths there was no way to ever get them to see that. Liberalism is a true mental disorder. To many it becomes a religion. It does not matter that what they believe is proven wrong. They have "faith" and you often can't reach them. Then of course there are now the generations of people who have never worked and have no intention of doing so. They vote with the liberals because the liberals tell them they are not at fault for anything they do. So the liberals promise to support them. An amazing number of conservatives do this too. The idea being if they don't pay off the dope heads and support them they will turn to crime. This is another one that leaves me shaking my head in wonder.

Heck, the minister in P-town that won the AR, then illegally transferred it, (and made the newspapers) hasn't even been prosecuted.
Yeah, if anyone should have got in trouble, it was him. If nothing else, just to make an example out of him and show that they actually enforce laws instead of just writing them in an oversized book and chuckling. He was in Lake O and spent an obscene amount of his church's money buying up tickets for a $700 AR. Spent a few grand if I remember right.

There are many that are coming to get away from the liberal BS in cally. Many won't let there kids go to public schools down there cause they teach them being ghay is just fine. Many from cally want true family values they just can't get in that POS state.
With those folks the only problem is they pay whatever the inflated price is for real estate, raising prices up here.

If you bring a handgun to an FFL in Oregon, they have to ship to an FFL in WA. So by the time I pay shipping, my FFL's fee, and I think in this case sales tax, what could have been a good deal for both sides becomes not worth it for me.

But it is legal for you to bring it from OR to my WA FFL. Then I pay you cash for the gun and $25 to my FFL for the background check and paperwork. So if I ask you if you are willing to bring it to WA, it is not because I am trying to skirt the law.
Spot On! Bring it to the shop in person! I have done this several times in the past... took my firearm south to Portland, met at the FFL, and sold it, with the transfer done by the buyers dealer.

No way they would prosecute that guy because he was pushing the same anti-2nd Amendment agenda as the political elites and fake news in Oregon. Orygun or Orygone?
