I don't mind reiterating. I stated that there are no actual obstacles on this forum for firearms to be sold to felons and often other prohibited persons. Such conclusion is based on my experience of selling/buying firearms on this forum. I invite anybody whoever sold guns here to think about their experiences, and think whether that is true or false.

Well, your experiences then are unethical and wrong and definitely not typical of all the responsible gun owners that are on NWF. Most of us find out about who we buy or sell from and do not do business with unidentified people or anyone prohibited from owning a firearm.

There is no legal requirement to ask for a CPL, and a lot of people don't ask for it. There is no legal requirement to ask for a state ID (for age/residency verification) either.

As a seller, it is incumbent upon you to make every effort to determine whether a buyer can legally own a firearm or not. State issued driver license, CHL, whether they are willing to sign a Bill of Sale or not, whether they are known on this forum, NRA Member, Rod and Gun Club Member, etc. Seller makes a reasonable effort to verify age, address, residency and criminal background or lack there of.

And, it is a Moral requirement, not a legal requirement.

Another good test is to see if they are willing to use a local FFL that you will pay for. If they hedge, there might be something amiss!!

Only a socialist needs the government to tell them how to live their life. If you feel ok that the government needs to intrude and trample on more of your rights than they already do, then you shouldn't own a firearm. In fact, you shouldn't be living in this country....

North Korea just executed the #2 guy in the government.....maybe they have an opening for people that like to live in a bubble?

Who said anything remotely close to that? What is wrong with you and Taku?

LOL. Why do you wear womans underwear?

That has just as much basis in fact or relevance to the topic at hand as asking why I want UBCs?

If I must, here is a thread I started on the subject that should clarify my feelings.

What's with the name calling and personal attacks? I thought only the granola crunchers that hang out at Whole Foods Market in Bellevue or Lake Oswego are that insecure...

If you're not into BGC or more laws than we're on the same side. Lets elevate the conversation, not take it down.

Actually it is illegal to sell to a felon or otherwise prohibited person even if selling privately.

Frustration with Taku overpowering EVERY thread with his nearly incoherent ramblings.

Maybe its just that he hates the direction that this country is going. What's the problem with that? I would rather have a forum chock full of guys like that than a bunch of apathetic, emasculated whiners that some forums have. That's what makes NWF so great IMO....
You have the right to choose whether or not you respond to any post you know.

They are only incoherent to leftists.
I don't think there are but a few here that dont comprehend what I say. Only seems to be those with hidden agendas and that don't like direct questions pertaining to their agendas that object.
I wont mask a fart with perfume.

I doubt that anyone walks in lockstep with every other person on this forum, but most don't resort to adolescent name calling. The concept of UCB's has been beaten to death here. I would also say that some were almost convinced it was harmless until the anti's clearly and openly made it plain that UBCs were only the first step in their desire to register and ultimately confiscate guns from law abiding citizens.

We see over and over again, in instances where there were murders, that someone broke more than a few laws. I just don't understand how any intelligent person can argue that imposing another law provides any more protection from those that disregard laws.

Again, if you have actual knowledge of people breaking the laws during gun ownership exchanges, then it's incumbent upon you to either take action or to own your role in the exchange. If you're just imagining that there are violations, well, I guess you can argue anything if you make up your own stories.

Deen

Understood, Deen; but not what I said. You sell privately making every effort to ascertain whether the buyer is "Legal". Never did I say that it was any other way. Thank you for insuring that my statement is not misunderstood by other forum members or guests to NWF.
