I found this article earlier tonight. It basically discusses how the U.N. Small Arms Treaty could put an end to reloading for all of us who do so. A really scary proposition as ammunition shortages would be very likely become permanent and we all would be shooting a lot less. The more I learn about the treaty, the more I cannot understand how our country could even discuss this for a single second.

Scare tactics by people who want your money. Fact- any treaty must be affirmed by US Senate, rural America controls Senate. Will NEVER happen and it does not matter the party in the majority.

Yes, because the feds would never make you get a license to sell, buy or own something else without it having to go through the Senate. EVER.

So you're probably right...the feds would never put caps on selling primers, gun powder or other reloading equipment to us civies. So just go about your day and forget you read anything here.

As if they'd just invent out of thin air some totally whacky completely illegal unconstitutional scheme to get around the core issues of our existence--life liberty and pursuit of happiness. Oh wow, that's nutty man. What would they even call it, heck something like....hmmm....how about an executive order? Yeah that sounds insane. Just beyond all comprehension. Never happen. Totally illogical. Not possible. I know everything.

Ya, because No republican has ever engaged in EOs.. Oh, except for ALL OF THEM.

The crazy on gun boards in an election year never ceases to amaze me.

The way some people turn it into a GOP vs. Dem. issue never ceases to amaze me.

Nobody has attacked the Democrats in this thread, just posted a link to an article which talks about the current administration, which just happens to have a D attached to it. It looks like their divisive strategy is working, too. Keep the people bickering over political party agendas, and they will forget all about the issues they have in common. Instead of saying, "but look at what they done" let's remember we are all on a firearm forum, and have protection of the 2nd Amendment as a common goal. Otherwise, dragging the old red herring of "(insert political party here) are just as bad" carries the same effect as the old "neener neener" defense. Either that, or you are just trolling.

In any case, I say good day to you, sir.

There is no UN Small Arms treaty to worry about yet. Gee's Which is why I assume you use the word "MAY" in your title since you have not read the UN SMALL ARMS TREATY which does not exist yet your just speculating at something they might if ever written stick in it.

Well let me try UN SMALL ARMS TREATY "MAY" ban tin foil hats and the use of subsitute Aluminum foil anti cemtrail governemtn mind control in the home manufacturing of hats. Yep you "MAY" have to cook your thanksgiving turkey ala nude with NO tinfoil or aluminum foil covering OH THE HUMANITY!

I'm afraid you are mistaken. Whoever is controlling Obama also controls the Senate. That is why Harry Reid refuses to audit the Fed after trying to get it to happen for 20 years. Now for some strange reason he doesn't want the Fed audited anymore. Someone else is pulling the puppets' strings. Whatever THOSE people want to happen will happen.

Here is the best source regarding the UN plans

UNODA - Small Arms and Light Weapons

There are pages and pages about small arms and their intent. I only read 3, but I found the part on this page about "stockpiling ammunition" particularly interesting.

Russia, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Czech Republic, Serbia - what do those guys have in common besides being UN members ? They all have a major small arms market in the US...

Its not about the right Vs left. Both the power hungry sides left and right have been pandering to the UN since it started! Bush Sr. fully embrased the NWO and Agenda 21! Keeping the people divided among the left and right plays into there needs just as they want. The two party system is wrong, bad for the people and bad for our country. There is a list a mile long from both sides that affect our liberty and freedom. Not sure how much freedom we really have anynore, whats left is just enough to give people something to argue about and pretend like we have freedome.
Its sad i think that so many on both sides play along with it...
How many will vote for the big O just becuase he is a Dem ( in my opinion as socialist)
How many will vote the big R just because he is a Rep... (though i feel he a track record that completly shows him a Dem)..
As far as guns go.. BOTH are a bad choice!

@Roit- this post is suggesting the U.S. will adopt all or parts of the UN efforts. I never said someone may not TRY within the US Gov't.

@Angie- thanks for posting original source material, not the idgested propoganda. Now back to the facys the UN has been attempting to place restrictions on all sorts of weapons for ever, the U.S. has resisted and has failed to sign off on multilateral restrictions on; chemical weapons, land mines, nuclear weapons, now small arms.

Angie is correct those in charge control Obama and the Senate, however, thier financial interest do not favor any weapons control. How do you make money off of peace?

And the Senate is a unique beast, Rural America does control it, I have work there on staff and have seen the corruption and local politics in action.

Obama is closing most coal fired power plants now through regulation and is bypassing Congress all together. It is regulation that controls the country. Congress and state assemblies have been bypassed and are becoming irrelevant.

No worries, Romney will unbypass it so that you can enjoy poisonous air. Go Romney!

Guns are way too big of an industry. Even if the "Illuminati/Powers that be" were behind the anti-gun stuff that's been going on it's purely to get people to keep buying just like before Obama was elected. NRA memberships and gun, ammo, and reloading supplies spike everytime one of the "insiders" leaks information about a supposed crackdown that never happens. It's like oil people, politicians always talk about how evil oil is but, it's just too damn big to ever truly be hurt by any of their claims.

More food for thought, the firearms industry is one of the few industries in the US that is doing very well. Most major manufacturers are expanding because they can't keep up with demand. This is creating new jobs, and therefor adding to Obama's "new jobs" scorecard he carries around in his pocket. Realistically keeping up this "anti-gun" conspiracy is helping him stimulate the economy through paranoia.
