Im continuing to pare down my bayonet collection to my core interests as such there are a few bayonets I am no longer going to collect.
1. An excellent example of a 2nd Variation Type 30 bayonet made by Toyoda Loomworks under Nagoya Army Arsenal supervision. This bayonet was made around 1940-42 has the rounded and contoured birds head , rounded / contoured quill ion . The blade has the fuller and is polished ( later variants had blued blades) . The scabbard is the early model with the ball at the end , the only thing missing is the frog and the Ricardo has nice clear stamps This is a scarce and hard to find Japanese military bayonet (Especially in this condition) which will complete or fill the hole in your collection . For those who are ignorant to these bayonets there are 18 variations of the type 30 bayonet . the second variant has all of the features of the first variant with the exception of the curved quillion which was eliminated from production to save time and material.
2. French Gras bayonet well above the average and I rate this example in VG to Excellent. Most of these bayonets look substantially worse , the scabbard retains a high degree of its original finish and is free of dents . The blade still exhibits it's original finish and is undamaged. Over all a very nice example for a more advanced collector.
I will consider some trades , I am looking for an 1888 commission rifle . Preferably an 88/05 but I will consider an 88/05/35 . However feel free to make other suggestions . Please note any trade will be straight across.
$300 cash I prefer face to face in Salem . Just as an FYI the Arisaka Bayonet is worth $250 to $300 by itself so this is a very fair deal . I will not separate the pair
