"Goines is being criminally prosecuted for the "untruths or lies" he peddled to obtain the warrant. But he is not facing murder charges. "

"Something Art Acevedo did not say is that the officers who entered the home were in plain clothes—not uniforms. What's more, upon entering the house, they immediately began shooting as one officer killed the couple's dog. That's when Tuttle came out of the back room with his .357 handgun and opened fire... Nicholas-Tuttle was also a big time supporter of police ..."

Free Thought Project - "The couple killed by police this week in Houston had been married for over 20 years, had no criminal record, and the husband was an honorably discharged veteran.

Herschel Smith at Captain's Journal - "(Chief) Art Acevedo conducts a wrong-home raid, get's his people shot, and then goes in front of the cameras to pimp gun control".

Well thats bubblegum.

Johnny law corruption at it's finest.

I know cops make mistakes, I support the LEOs almost to a fault, but when they knowingly do wrong, and then try to cover it up.....time to put them away.
And make an example.

Sadly when a Cop does something really stupid there is often not nearly enough pain felt by them. It makes the job FAR harder for the rest since the "we hate Cops" crowd just loves a story like this. They should hammer blatant bad ones so word gets around to others.

The moral of the story for me was: Respond to home invaders with a rifle with a magazine capacity of at least 20 and have spouse also be included and incorporated into the "repel borders" training and plan.

That's a terrible situation. Heads should roll for that one.

These will continue to happen as long as red flag raids exist and no knock raids continue.

If I could add, wear good body armor and possibly have a well barricaded safe room

Update Aug 2019

"Today Harris County, Texas, District Attorney Kim Ogg announced that Gerald Goines, the narcotics officer who instigated the disastrous January 28 drug raid that killed a middle-aged couple, has been charged with two counts of felony murder. "

Good.
Fsck that guy & put him away.

Crazy. Everyone involved needs to eat this one. Based on my experience with this stuff, how does one narcotics detective use a controlled buy that no one else knows about? In order for one to fly here, the CS has to be searched by at least one officer and a witness before being sent in. Eyes have to be on at all times, which means more people involved. No one just walks up and says, "hey guys, did a buy, lets go get em!".

The feds are working on it...

The Federal investigation into the no-knock raid on 7815 Harding Street in Houston Texas, on January 28th, 2019, where the married couple, Dennis Tuttle and Rhogena Nicholas were killed in their home, has resulted in indictments and arrests for three people. Those three are former officers Gerald M. Goines, 55, Seven M. Bryant, 46, and neighbor Patricia Ann Garcia, 53.
