Michael Haft: Trained to Kill: Two Marine Officers on Video Games and Gun Violence

I thought this was a good opinion piece gun violence and video games. I play a lot of violent video games and there is a reward system for kills and a desensitization effect IMO. I think it's a worthwhile topic to discuss, the simulated killings never got so "life like" until GTA:III came out and they have been getting more realistic ever since.

Right now I can fire up GTA IV and start a fight with the military with an arsenal of weaponry that my character somehow carries with no explanation as to how.

like he said their not getting the second lesson. there is still no reason we need to limit violence in entertainment nor make it more difficult to get a weapon.

we need better life teachers, not laws that regulate our behavior.
