They look awful at first glance. However, you can still see blued steel in places. Closer examination might show they have more potential for restoration than you'd think.

No mention was made of insurance. My thoughts about insurance usually are centered around theft. But damage or destruction by fire is also covered. So, any of you out there who are holding back on insurance because it costs $200 a year or whatever, think about these pictures.

An insurance adjuster would likely pay out for complete loss on these. Doesn't mean the insured couldn't use the money toward restoration.
 
It's enough to make you cry......so sorry, that just sucks. But nice restoration up there Zeke. Who did you use to re-heat treat it? Did they check the Rockwell hardness before and after? Curious about the process.
