I chewed about a tree worth of mint flavored toothpicks. it gave my hands and mouth something to do especially for those times of the day when you always want one, and something to chomp on when things go intense. Of coarse I've chewed flat a couple teeth now! (Just kidding) Don't know if it will help for chaw.
It took a couple times over the years but it finally got it to stick. Eventually you find you are no longer using the sticks in your pocket or reaching for the tobacco that's no longer there. Still really miss a good cigar.
Try toothpicks, you can get a box of them like the restaurants use with mint flavor in little individual paper wrappings. Tearing the wrapper off replaces opening up your stuff. Cash N carry has them, or whatever their name is now.
 
I keep telling my self I need to quit drinking and smoking.

But,
Why would I listen to a drunk that talks to himself.
