In Trlsmn's world welfare would be workfare. No job? Workfare will provide a minimum level of support to live on if you come to the workfare centers and work 40 hours a week. Workfare workers will watch your 15 babies, your families will eat in communal kitchens staffed by workfare workers and the cost will come out of your pay.

Workfare will be no frills and suck in general but you and your 15 babies will eat so long as you work. Workfare will not be availble to illegal or legal aliens or children of illegal or legal aliens.

Workfare will bring people and society up as opposed to socialism which brings people and society down.

I actually agree with you on this, I can't really see letting kids starve in the streets. Obviously just handing money to mom, who has already proven herself to be amazingly irresponsible, is not the answer. Perhaps a return to something like the "poor farm" concept would be more cost effective while offering some encouragement for people to better themselves.

Oh I've always been a big fan of personal responsibility and idea of pulling your own weight, I also have a pretty strong libertarian streak in regards to matters of personal liberty. I have a better solution..... End some of the human/social meddling. If you stop trying so hard to control people (and everything else in the world) with ridiculous laws in an effort to create a false sense of fairness and equality, natural selection will create it's own balance. We've created conditions that make it possible for the weak, unacceptable, and burdensome to survive, and often times thrive. It's not PC or nice, but not everyone is meant to be successful and survive. That's life. And life isn't always nice.

I have a feeling "the rich" have already been paying her way for her entire life. "Workfare" would be a solution to many problems, but society has to have the guts to implement such a thing. If she does not want to work, she should lose her kids and starve.

I partially agree, but the coming collapse is going to make the first Great Depression look like a blip on the radar. It will be horrific for all of us and it is nothing to look forward to at all. It will last the rest of our lives. Even people that prep, buy ammo, PMs, etc, would be wise not to hasten its arrival. The people you care about, as well as the parasites, are going to be dropping like flies.

There are a lot of poor people out there down on their luck, out of work, that could get a handout but don't. I was one in my youth. The thought of getting food stamps or welfare never even entered my mind as a possibility. My mentality was I'd go dumpster diving for a meal before I'd go to welfare.

No I don't hate profits or corporations. I just have a strong understanding of them, in fact I happen to run a small, privately held corporation. Fairness, yes, consider me guilty as charged. While I certainly believe in the concept of differential rewards I think what we have today is an abomination.

The recipients are expected to pay, there is nothing free, easy or "fair" about workfare!

Yes, kick them to the curb, exactly correct, failure as a life lesson is a great lesson and keeps people from repeatedly making the same mistakes. Failure is actually a great motivator to try to improve oneself and is why welfare programs ultimately have high failure rates.
