I'm with @NCW_Robert ,this will never happen. To make it happen it would take changing the states' laws that are on the Utah,Florida and the others everyone wants.
Do you want those states to change their laws to be more restrictive, just so you can carry in a state that doesn't want you to?
Seems kinda selfish really.
This is a lost cause. The 15 states or abouts that don't recognize the Idaho,Utah florida's permits would fight it forever.
OR..... try to change YOUR home states carry laws to what they see fit. How 'bout that one?
Ho about they tell you exactly what gun you can and can't carry?
This will not go the way you think. Just leave other states alone. Their folks apparently don't care if they can carry,or if you can either. So leave those states to their own rights.
As it should be.
You don't have to visit those states anyway.
No...no you don't. You can change lots of thing to not have to go to those states. Make your family meet you out of that state
Don't do business in those states. Spend your money in free states.
I for one do not want the federal government having anything to do with my carry freedoms. Cause I am sure they don't want anyone having any gun freedoms
Your hero Trump may not make it a second term.
Then we could be back to ground zero

I'm really hoping Trump can get Gorsuch approved on the supreme court, if Trump just accomplish that, future dems will find it much harder to remove our 2A rights.

Then they could always assassinate Gorsuch like obama did with Scalia.

Bottom line, I do not trust them [Obama and the left] and DO think they were and are capable of such actions.

~

But we need more than Gorsuch, there's a few more justices that are up there in years and of not the greatest health... Ginsburg comes immediately to mind...

Ideally, if Trump can make three or four placements on the SCOTUS, then we'd be set for a generation...

Hopefully by that time, people will be referring, in the past tense, of the idologicial railroading of the democrat party by the socialists, liberals and haters of America...

So Obama had Scallia assinated what evidence is there of this?

Being found dead in your room with a pillow over you head isn't a bad start...
Add of course Obama dId this kind of like wire tapping Trump. Make stuff up without any real evidence probably read or saw ithe on Fox so it must be true irregardless of facts. I was ready for Obama to leave but accusing him of murdering a supreme Court Justice is ignorant at best so let's see your proof.

Actually it was an article in the liberals own beloved New York Post that indicated Scalia was found with a pillow over his head...

Doesn't take much work to find collaborating articles on the subject...

JRuby, on one hand I see your point, I should have proof if I am going to make such a charge.

On the other hand I reserve the right to act just like the press is doing now and gen up anything I wish to pull outa my arse and fling it against the wall over and over and over until the general public believes it is true, this is what constitutes professional journalism today.

So your credibility means so little that you are willing state something and have no credible evidence to back it up. My personal standard is higher than that. To me a man's word and handshake still has great value to me. Maybe I am a dinosaur.

Gentlemen, please forgive my naivety, but isn't the fourth amendment still in force? Is not the fourth amendment the force behind my marriage license being valid in all 50 states?
Feel free to correct me.

Bill.

Talks about no search and seizure and the rights to your papers houses/ property and effects please help me understand how that has any effect on being married or even your right to marry. This is not to be argutive as I simply dont understand how the fourth has anything to do with the act of being married.

Or what it's got to do with this stupid national reciprocity BS .
Still doesn't make it a good idea

I'm guessing that you mean the Fourteenth Amendment; specifically the Equal Protection Clause?

There have been carry cases that cite the Fourteenth Amendment and there are many that believe that the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment is the way forward for reciprocity. There have been cases fought in the lower courts and petitions have been filed to have the SCOTUS hear the cases, yet they have refused to hear any of them (Woollard v Gallagher, Kachalsky v. Cacace).

McDonald v. City of Chicago (although these are not a carry case) argued that the Due Process Clause and the Privileges or Immunities Clause should be incorporated with the Second Amendment. SCOTUS majority ruled that the right of an individual to "keep and bear arms" protected by the Second Amendment is incorporated by the Due Process Clause. Even though this case was a win for us, it could have been huge. Justice Thomas was the only person on the bench to reach the same conclusion regarding the incorporation issue, but on different grounds: The Privileges or Immunities Clause. If the majority would have agreed with him and overturned the "Slaughterhouse Cases", it would have confirmed that the entire Bill of Rights, including the 2nd Amendment, would arguably be applied to the states. Sadly it was not to be.

We need another pro 2A Justice or two to be added to the SCOTUS (I'm still not sold on Gorsuch) and get strong case before them, then the hardest part: get them to take it. Until then we here in the PNW are stuck with the activists ruling from the bench on the 9th Circus Court.

Multnomah County District Attorney Rod Underhill says Oregon lawmakers have worked hard to set restrictions that are meant to reduce gun violence. He worries that Oregon would be exposed to other states that may not have few restrictions when it comes to who can obtain a concealed carry permit.

In other words, we've worked really hard to limit Oregonians Civil Rights, and we like it that way...

The other thing is it's gonna depend on who wields more influence with Trump. Eric and Don Junior seem to be gun guys--they're the ones most vocal about HPA and other gun-rights causes. But Ivanka, on the other hand... well, we know Daddy's Little Girl is gonna bawl her eyes out about "Daddy, we have to DO SOMETHING!" as soon as the next spree-kill drops.

Technically, if you're within 100mi of a border you don't HAVE Fourth Amendment rights anymore anyway...
