I have a 1930's commercial that has been sleeved to 9mm. It shoots well, but when the bolt comes back, it doesn't always cock the hammer and the hammer catches on the little depression on the bottom of the bolt which effectively locks everything up. Solution is to cock the hammer with my thumb and the bolt goes back into battery with a new round.

I have a new recoil spring.

When I cycle the empty pistol by hand it ALWAY works right.

The only thing that is different is that when shooting I think I am still depressing the trigger.

By the way the trigger is VERY light.

Do I need to replace something internally? Anyone have an idea?

Clean enough to eat off of where I can get at it. I will check though. Well oiled too.

Which style safety does your have? Some times the older Pre 1930 factory safety will wear out and cause issues, where as the Universal tends to work much longer and with out issues! Also look at the bolt stop and make sure it isn't galled or worn, or worse, cracked! Other then that, our resident Wizard @Velzey might know! Best of luck.

Sometimes the sear notch in the hammer needs a little "touching up"
They will work 100% when you do it by hand, but under recoil the sear bounces right back out of the hammer notch. ;)

Different ammo will produce different results on problems like this also.

Is this fixable? Want to do it?

This is my concealed carry piece so it should be reliable...

I have been using light hand loads for it. I reckoned that's what I want to use in an oldster like this. It has been sleeved to 9mm from 7.63m. I think it's just a shooter.

I might add that it is a good shooter too. All threat weight out front makes it shoot totally differently than a modern handgun.

Broom handle as a CCW? Now thats what I call a classy carry gun. I would relish the idea of getting one in 30 Mauser too bad their price seems awfully stiff these days.

Mine was listed as 30m and when I got home I sort of thought, "that's a mighty big .30 cal" so I dropped a bullet through it and sore enough it was a 9. The pistol is a 30s commercial model so it should be a 30m. Oh well. As I say it's a shooter
