So, I took the new AAC 556-SD can out for the second time today. The ratchet latch fell off whilst firing. Then the can was stuck on the rifle. 
But I managed to get it off.
Anyway, I have a message into AAC and I expect to hear back from them tomorrow. I just thought I'd toss it out there to see if anyone knows what could have happened and how to put it back. If not, back to AAC it goes. The only other time I've worked with them on a repair was a piece of cake.
Oh and 2018 hasn't been my year for NIB firearms. Used guns, no problems so far, but the last two new ones have been less than fantastic.
