This classic has been in my family since new (1939 - great grandfather, grandfather, to myself). 25 rounds have been put through it since 1959 and did this myself about 8 years ago. Great Grandpa used it as his "field gun" at our family lodge in Red Lodge MT, pheasant mostly I'm told. Another baby on the way, and limited money, means that every dime is on my wife's radar, so if I want to get her something decent for Valentine's Day, unfortunately this is how it will have to be done. Thankfully I inherited quite a few classics from my family, and this is just one of two 1897 in my collection.

Details: 1939 (est.) manufacture date, ALL original, very light checking on stock for a field gun of this age, mirror bore (I mean immaculate), cycles like new, break-down model (very tight), no cracks in stock, 90% on original blue (my estimate), original tube plug, and I think I still have the original wood and brass cleaning rod somewhere. Asking $750 or trade for interesting rifle or handgun plus cash. I would consider:

Savage or Remington Bolt in .308 + cash
Ruger Single Six + cash
Springfield XDM.40 + cash
Maybe another old Winchester + cash
