Ideas for Rock sliders? Thanks! If you're doing off-roading, get rock sliders, not running boards. You can drop the full weight of the vehicle on rock sliders. Running boards will fail and damage things.
What was on it before.. that sucked so bad you needed new tires in a year.I am happy with the Toyo Open Country AT III on my 4runner. Not the most aggressive, but rugged enough. I insist on a tire with the 3 peak snow rating which this has. Also, smooth ride and not very noisy like the more aggressive tires are. Stock size 265/70/17. They balanced OK. Balance is a problem with many of the off road tires.
I don't have rock sliders as my off roading is gravel and dirt roads. I am not doing any rock crawling. I do have running boards, Toyota OEM, to step on because I am old and my wife is short. But don't tell her I said that.

I second the suggestion for White Knuckle sliders. For use in Eastern, Oregon fire service rock roads, during the hunting season, snow and rain in the greater Portland area or Eastern, Oregon Blue Mountains wiith occasional pulling of trailer. Ideas for running boards?
They are not tough to balance in my opinion. I worked at Les Schwab for almost 17 years and wished they would sell Michelin (BFG) tyres. They are about the truest (roundest) tires in the market. My next set of tires (America ) will be the KO3's and that's saying something because Toyo's are hard to beat for the money. I got 68,500 miles out of my last set of Toyo Open Country tires on my truck, still had 7/32'nds of tread but was getting close to winter. The Toyo RT's have performed very well but not as good as the BFG KO3's in my experience. Great selection on your part!I second the suggestion for White Knuckle sliders.
Great quality, reasonably priced (for true sliders), and built in So Cal, so shipping is fast and not too much $$.
Re tires, I'm still a fan of BF Goodrich KO2's. Tough as nails, has the 3-peak rating, good snow traction, long lasting.
Some say they're difficult to balance but that has not been my experience with any of the 3 sets I've owned.

I had sliders on my last Taco from Demello Offroad. The quality was excellent. He's in California though...but I'm sure they ship.Ideas for Rock sliders? Thanks!
