I run a recoil buffer in my AK. I've seen slow motion videos of the bolt carrier smacking into the rear trunnion, yet a lot of folks say that the AK doesn't need a recoil buffer lol.... ooooookay!
Anyway, right now I have a strike industries blue recoil buffer.
I have never had an issue with rounds not loading properly and no extraction/ejection issues either. The recoil is softer and more enjoyable IMO.

A good spring and it won't beat the trunnion to death.

WHY YOU WANT RAIL FOR KALASHNIKOV? IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH AS PROCURED FROM IZHEVSK MECHANICAL WORKS? YOU THINK NEEDS IMPROVEMENT? THEN MAYBE YOU FIND JOB WITH ARMY OF RUSSIA! YOU HAVE DRINKS WITH MIKHAIL KALASHNIKOV, TRADE STORY OF MANY WEAPONS DESIGNED AND DETAILS OF SCHOOL FOR ENGINEERING!

OR MAYBE YOU NOT DO THIS. PROBABLY IS BECAUSE YOU NEVER DESIGN WEAPON IN WHOLE LIFE. YOU LOOK AT FINE RUSSIAN RIFLE, THINK IT NEED CRAZY bubblegum STICK ON ALL SIDES OF WEAPON. YOU HAVE DISEASE OF AMERICAN CAPITALIST, CHANGE THING THAT IS FINE FOR NO REASON EXCEPT TO LOOK DIFFERENT FROM COMRADE. YOU PUT CHEAP FLASHLIGHT OF CHINESE SLAVE FACTORY ON ONE SIDE, YOU PUT BAD SCOPE OF AMERICAN MIDDLE WEST ON OTHER SIDE, YOU PUT FRONT PISTOL GRIP ON BOTTOM SO YOU ARE LIKE AMERICAN MOVIE GUY JOHN RAMBO. MAYBE YOU PUT SEX DILDO ON TOP TO bubblegum YOURSELF IN bubblegum FOR MAKING SHAMEFUL TRAVESTY OF RIFLE OF MIKHAIL KALASHNIKOV, NO?

RIFLE IS FINE. YOU bubblegum IT, IT ONLY GET HEAVY AND YOU STILL NO HIT LARGEST SIDE OF BARN. GO TO FIRING RANGE, PRACTICE WITH MANY MAGAZINE OF CARTRIDGE. THEN YOU NOT NEED DUMB bubblegum PUT ON SIDE OF RIFLE.

You know, I was just thinking about these this week. I have a M92-PAP pistol that we put a triangle folder on when we SBR'd it. I was talking to another guy who put a new rear trunion on his as well, and we both have no end of trouble with the rear trunion getting destroyed by the BCG's recoil. I tried these buffers, but I think it added to the problem by making the contact with the rear trunion happen sooner and adding mass that increased pressure on the rear rivets. We both have rivet failure and resorted to adding welds, which have subsequently also failed.

Is there any other way to reduce recoil, like venting more gass off or something?

I still have these buffer pads on my M70 and PSAK currently, so I think its just an M92 issue.

Need a stiffer recoil spring. Adjustable piston helps too but no idea if they make one short enough. It seems the yugos have softer steel than other combloc AKs so who knows.

Thats a good idea. I did some poking around amd found this:

So I think I'll give it a try. Looks like it will let me dial it in perfectly and allow me to adjust for suppression down the road.

I'm glad others posted pics. I was going to say this threads is worthless without pics. Usually a thread about going to the range, you need to post some pics. Start off with something like this:

I went to the range today:

Had the range all to myself!!!!:p

Shot a ton of ammo, now I have to prep all my brass
