I've been in PDX for 36 years. In the last 10-15 years I've seen the city morph into something insane. It's coming here, what those cities like LA, Chicago, Detroit, San Fran have going on....You betcha!

Is off it's rocker in a lot of ways, partly because of self-righteous utopian idealism, and partly because half of Los Angeles lives here now. I will never understand why people decide to leave their bubblegumty state of California and move to another state and bring their bubblegumty ideals with them and turn the new state into just another socialist bubblegum show.

People generally follow rules and laws because of two reasons :
They want to or fear of punishment / pain.

If the social system in place does not foster an environment where one is taught to respect others and the law...
Along with a legal / justice system that does not have a effective punishment / rehabilitation system or no longer enforces laws that actually do work...
Then that is a sure sign that what we have in place is not working....and needs to change.

Unfortunately the changes that they have in mind only makes it worse. We need to back up and see where it all went wrong, no matter how obvious it is to most of us.

You can pass any laws you want, it will never stop homicides! Once again death by firearms continues to drop dramatically for this last year. It always has been the lowest of all the deaths, with that of hands and feet being the 1st. Riots in Hong Cong there hasn't been any deaths yet, but students are preparing to fight police with bow and arrows!...So far all these multiple shootings, with the exception of youngsters, all include drugs in their histories, Democrats or Muslim extremest backgrounds, and it's only seemingly lately, the FBI involved after very long investigations can't seem to find motives. All kinds of reasons and motives for them to shoot if Christian land owners that use public lands. Look for for more unlawful laws to be passed, and adjusted further, such as the recent Red Flag laws. When guns are outlawed (soon), only outlaws will have guns!
