They don't care if it actually works. It is their religion, their mating call, and their opponent-suppression campaign all rolled into one.

Just what mystical, magical law do they think will stop shootings in the state with the most draconian gun control laws in the country? They have a limited gun roster, that's approved by bureaucrats, that have a 10 day wait, they have background checks on ammo purchases, and on and on and on... They created this gun control Utopia and it continually blows up in their face.

They need to be honest about what they really want, they really want to disarm the populace, Diane Feinstein said it loud and clear. Even Beta was honest about this. Perhaps there should be stronger checks and balances, including mental health checks before elected officials are allowed to assume their elected post and annually while in that position...

One big issue with California, is like most places the majority of shootings are only in a few areas. Most people in California have never seen an unholstered gun. They've only seen the pistol grip of a Glock on a cop.

California is huge in population and size. It's true, violence is down. They don't have to worry much if they live in a good area as millions do. And if you are part of the millions that don't live in a nice area, the government really doesn't value those opinions anyway because they probably own or control you with assistance.

The people living in their safe bubble don't care until they get touched. Wondering how it could happen in such a place.

Beta was a sacrificial lamb. He was an unelectable doofus and I believe his real purpose was to soften up the populace to the 'buy back' & "hell yes we're taking your guns" rhetoric.

The next encroachment will now be offered as, "Well, at least it is not Beto-crazy".

They need to spend there time, effort and money on the real problems.

Family values, education and mental healthcare...

Maybe it has something to do with jamming/stacking more and more and MORE people all in small areas. No room to roam, Concrete/pavement jungles. The more people you have the harder it is for people to relate to others. Easier for tensions to build among the people. Depression just has to increase in atmospheres like that. It's not natural.

We are all just animals on this planet.

I've been in PDX for 36 years. In the last 10-15 years I've seen the city morph into something insane. It's coming here, what those cities like LA, Chicago, Detroit, San Fran have going on....You betcha!

Nah, a controlled yet unarmed proletariat is no threat.

First they developed a caste like system & kept it generational with social programs. Removing family values.

The education industry indoctrinates and promulgates an anything goes mentality.

Lax drug laws leads to catastrophe for the mentally ill, and everyone they contact. The drain on the "standard" healthcare system due to the current "culture" in this regard is obscene.

Complete disarmament is "there" goal.

Exactly. He was there to shift the Overton window of victim disarmament, firearm confiscation.

Control freaks hate it when something happens out of their control. So they make an attempt to control what they can.

They can't fix this, it's out of their control, but they can control the good people, the law abiding.

They can control the very people that CAN do something, and make things worse.

Which will lead to more things they can't control happening, which will lead to more displays of control. And cost more lives.

It is a viscious cycle.

I grew up in Orange County, just south of Los Angeles. It was good there, now it's just wall to wall city from Irvine to Sylmar. Just too many effing people, cars, trucks, planes. Stupid place to allow a population that large. The entire southern half of the state is desert, no natural bodies of water save one little pond in the San Bernardino mountains. Only seasonal rivers and streams. If a couple of rail lines and a half dozen overpasses were taken out? People would be eating each other in a week. Not in a nice way like West Hollywood either.

There are still a LOT of guns in California, in good, and bad hands. Sure would hate to see what would happen in a shtf scenario.
