I find it far more interesting that every person on the site, in this country and around the world has a lineage stretching back to forms that we today can hardly fathom. Facing down random and constant death, having no set rules or guidelines by which to judge your choices of survival, getting up every day to face untamed wilds, hordes of god knows what-----those people were tough. And every last one of us comes from them.
Actually a lot of our ancestors were far from that, many were the those who avoided conflict and did menial jobs. Not everyone has knights, kings and inventors as ancestors. Who would dig the ditches?
Did you know that a lot of MacGregors changed their last name to Campbell after the clan name was banned?
