I'm a huge fan of bullpups. Especially after watching Starship Troopers in the 90s. I would choose this one over a standard AR-15 any day of the week for survival-the Bushmaster M17s. This is my go to survival rifle and is almost perfect. 21.5'" chrome lined barrel in a 30" package, short stroke piston, takes AR mags, accurate, customizable, reliable. The Bushmaster M17s aka "Starship troopers gun" beats a standard AR-15 hands down. Change my mind...

Interesting that all of the bullpups in military history have faded out into relative obscurity. I had occasion once to work with some folks whose issue long gun was the Steyr-AUG... While I will concede it's a handy weapon for vehicle carry, quite portable, it's definitely an acquired taste. Having used the M-16 and M-4 in battle, I'm gonna stick with an accurate, ergonomic rifle/carbine that is capable of very fast reloads (bullpups lose there). In a firefight, I want a carbine I can get my support hand out under; with a bullpup, your firing stance/grip is compromised and not as stable. JMO.

Good analysis my friend!

I thought they had mini- 14s in bullpup attire?
IIRC - the Starship Troopers guns were Mini-14s in modified MuzzleLite stocks.

I had that combo for a while and it was complete and utter POS!

Also, the M17s was not inspired by Starship Troopers movies; the M17s came out 5 years before the movie and the only similarity is that both rifle configurations are bullpups.

FWIW - I am a fan of bullpups in general - I've owned and shot six of them (IIRC).
