During the 3 1/2 years of WWII that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in Dec. of 1941 and with the surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945 the US produced 22 aircraft carriers, 8 battle ships, 48 cruisers, 34 destroyers, 420 destroyer escorts, 203 submarines, 349 million tons of merchant ships, 100,000 fighter aircraft, 98,000 bombers and transport aircraft, 58,000 training aircraft, 93,000 tanks, 257,000 artillert pieces, 105,000 mortars, 3,000,000 machine guns, and 2,500,000 military trucks.

We put 16.1 million men in uniform in the various armed forces, invaded Africa, Sicily and Italy, won the Atlantic, planned and executed D-Day, marched across the Pacific and Europe, developed the atomic bomb and ultimately conquered Japan and Germany.

It is worth noting that during the almost exact amount of time the Obama administration couldn't build a functioning web site.

One of the reasons was because everyone supported the cause. Companies like Smith Corona and Singer sewing machines completely stopped making typewriters and sewing machines and started building rifles and 1911's for the war. Everyday people happily rationed and brought in huge amounts of metal from farm implements, toys, scrap to be melted down and used for ships, planes and weapons.

Today, we are without leadership. That's called anarchy in most peoples book. And when you have a dictator that promotes anarchy and an agenda that most people view as fundamentally wrong, it does garner support.

Lets face it, had Obama been the President in 1939 when Hitler rolled into Poland, Obama probably would have said the Poles deserved it. If not them, those greedy French people for sure. And who the hell likes warm beer and Shepherds Pie? Bomb England too!

Portland was turning out Liberty ships like there was no tomorrow. My Mom, and Grandmother and Aunts all worked in the shipyards here while my dad, granddad and uncles were off in the Pacific, Europe and India to China fighting.
