Lane County Sheriff dept has a similar vehicle as well.....

seems more and more Counties are acquiring military type vehicles for their SWAT teams, ostensibly for better protection but.....

honestly, since LA SWAT acquired the ex military armored cars..is it any surprise that other counties and states and police depts would get more military vehicles in line with the militarization of the police forces?

To top that off look at this..
A bit wacko for a college.
And don’t look now, but Ohio State University also counts an MRAP among its service fleet.

The college reportedly obtained one of the armored vehicles through the same means as Murfreesboro and Dallas County in mid-September.

Said Campus Police Chief Paul Denton at the time, “We pride ourselves on being self-sufficient from local authorities. Frankly, we have to be. We are the primary responder."

I saw 2 MRAPs at PDX yesterday. Parked on the street side by the hangars with the smaller jets.

to execute warrants for wanted people....yes, and we all know who those wanted people will be ...us, the day they decide owning a firearm is illegal. That is unless you are an Al Qaeda terrorist in which case the say: "Well, Mr. Abdullah, would you like that M4 in FDE or factory Evil Rifle Black?"
