No one I know has mentioned this expense. Fla legislators were responding to local voter frenzy and now there's a positively HUGE cost brewing for LEOs to patrol as deemed 'common sense' response.

Can you say $400 MILLION? EACH year? Additional to the school budgets?

Geez.... a couple of $400 pistols in the hands of willing/able teachers at each school seems WAY more effective in quick-response AND costs.

Probably because about $399.5 million will go to Policiticans and .5 million will be going...???

It would be a no-brainer to set up Training criteria, Protocol, Uniforms/Equipment and hire retired veterans that meet the training...

The cost as calculated in the article, approaches $400M. The FL legislature budgeted $100M. The $300M shortfall will be coming out of FL residents hides in the form of property tax levies, crap like what Kate pushes through here, and also reduced available LEO because you can only do so much with what you have...
Look at the decades-long deferred maintenance that was endemically practiced in Parkland, and IIRC, they had a bond in place for improvements and maintenance where very little was done.
