Let's see the powder horns that accompany your gear! Here's one I made in '14 for my hunting gear when I was heavy into traditional style hunting.

Maybe this can be a sticky? @AndyinEverson :D

Top and middle is my 'vous horn made by a friend of mine with way more artistic talent and stronger fingers than I have. Holds about 3/4 lb of powder.

Bottom is a flat day horn made by R. Froelich (hope a spelled that right) a horner out of Nebraska and holds a bit less than 1/4 lb.

Here are two of mine...
The dark brown is made of moose hide and is used with my Hawken Rifle...the horn is cow.
The tan one ...is Brain Tan Elk with a buffalo horn...I use it mostly with my Flintlock Fowler.

Here is a older horn..as in from the 1970's...if you look close you can see that I carved a Dragoon Eagle on it...the spout will throw about 40 grains...

Here are two antique horns....

Not sure why this one appeals to me so much - maybe because of reading Cooper's 'Leatherstocking Tales' when I was a boy.

I got this from a seller on eBay, and when the box arrived, I found that the stopper had come out of the horn. There was a nice little pile of BP in the box. I wonder if it left a little trail from the seller's house to mine?

Thinking of painting melted beeswax onto/into the leather, to help it shed water.

I like it, too.

I might turn this hunting horn into a powder horn - haven't decided yet.

There are a couple of cracks in it, near the large end. Does anyone here have experience repairing something like this?

I got it from a fellow who found it at a flea market in Ohio. The artwork looks like it was laser-etched into the horn.
