We have few home-grown terrorists here. When they show up the majority tend to come from Portland. They can't be in 2 places at once.

"Defund the police" is part of an ongoing movement to dismantle the United States of American, it is not just about Benjamins. Police are demonized and treated like the enemy. When they do their job and arrest scumbags they are made out to be the bad guys, woke POS DAs and judges let criminals go and they are back on the street doing the same dirt or worse. LEOs are constantly at odds with doing their job, facing prosecution and losing their livelihoods and security. Many of the seasoned veterans have said f' this BS and walked, now qualified applicants are few and far between, so they must lower the standards and end up with people who should not have power over a dog let alone anyone in society. Then you have the diversity hiring and that has it's own consequences. Case in point, these five murdering thugs and this is not the first go around, it starts at the top...

i see something else as well even beyond defund and demoralization, is it possible that these large cities being managed by progressive types are mpre worried than the appearance of equity and place "intersectionality" and "equity" ahead of the candidate's ability to do the job.

I'm not saying that a black female lesbian, etc., person can't do that job, but I think a lot of things get overlooked by otherwise bad candidates and a lot of otherwise good candidates get ignored for the opposite reasons.

Something bad happened, the wheels of justice are turning, the instigators will likely be punished.

Not sure what all the hubbubs about. I'm not sure it's realistic to expect, in millions of interactions between flawed human beings, some won't go bad.

I can think of a half dozen or so instances off the top of my head where the officers/agents were not punished that we should be talking about.

It seems like this reaction is just an excuse by the usual suspects who make a career out of it to stay relevant.
