I feel bad for teachers when my boy is old enough to go to school..
First of all we are saving to send him to private school, but she just lost her job..

so if stuff doesn't turn around and public school teachers are doing this PC BS I will be down in the principles office everyday and talking to local media on how F'ed up this crap is..
We are in America Muther F'ers....

I am Mexican and if I wanted my kids learning spanish I would be having his *** watching dora the mother bubbleguming explorer..

Nope its not. Unless your wife is getting over maybe $40k a year, after gas, lunches, babysitting, drycleaning, etc she's probably working for a few hundred dollars a week and putting you in a higher tax bracket too. Basically she's probably working for close to nothing. My wife quit a $35k per year job ten years ago to homeschool first our niece who lives with us, then our two kids when the time came.

I would put her in a Full Nelson while you did it. :s0155:

Well, I had a big talk with the teacher and explained that my daughter won't be saying the pledge in Spanish, since English is our national language. I told her that saying the pledge in Spanish is not very patriotic and its a "dicey" thing to do IMHO.

I am not continuing the battle as of yet....

Anyhow, this liberal Blowbama lover (she has one of those full size Obama posters in her room!) speaks spanish and wants the kids in class to get to know other cultures.

I told her a national language is important to promote unity and prevent balkanization and let's focus on English not foreign languages for my daughter...its 4th grade here folks.

She told me that Spanish will probably be our national language in the future. Maybe she should rethink her liberal ways, as we are all on a path to speaking Chinese, thanks to all the debt we owe them.

Can you tell I don't like liberalism or socialism???

For you liberals out there, I still like you, but your ideologies pushed on America over the last 50 years have slowly turned our country into what our forefathers originally were fleeing from. T. Jefferson is rolling in his grave now...

Long live freedom and liberty and justice for all..

I never liked the pledge of allegiance. The fact that it's mandatory for children really bothers me.

Personally, I hope the pledge is done away with.
It was written by a socialist, for socialists....
The fact that some people have managed to associate a mandatory pledge of allegiance with freedom is laughable at best.

It is not that it should be mandatory, but rather that it should not be considered offensive. All too often the pledge is not being recited because it "might offend". Well that is to bad for those that are offended. That flag represents all the sacrifices of those that came before us.

I, personally, give the Pledge the same weight as I do the oath that I took to defend the Constitution when I enlisted.

JMHO. :s0155:

Keep the Pledge of Alliegence in schools, along with the American and State Flag on the flagpole outside. Never hesitate to give your childs teachers your opinion and establish limits. Things changed when John Wayne and Evlis Presley died, and not for the Better. Just my two cents.

i don't like kids saying the pledge either. how many have any clue what they're saying? we said it every monday in school- i never had a freaken clue what i was saying. the words had been taught to me in kindergarten, and they were nothing more than a long, boring bllaaaaaaa of words blurred together and meaningless.

there's a comment (that i actually responded to) on the OP's linked youtube page, where a foreigner says

As a permanent resident here (yes I'm here legally) I do not say the pledge of allegiance at events and I get flak for it. Even when I tell them I'm not American.

i believe people probably do flick him bubblegum for it. they grew up with the same blur of gray on monday mornings, and have no clue what it means.

it's an oath of allegiance to your country. it's not an oath to a man, a god, nor a government- just to the flag, and the body of private citizens, the republic, that it represents.

if you can't handle a simple oath of allegiance to the country that you owe your (last remaining) liberties to, i don't know what to tell you. go move to bubbleguming england.

RIGHT ON!

I don't care who here on NWFA doesn't agree. I think it should be manditory, or at the very least you should; in you heart of hearts feel the urge to stand up and be proud to be an AMERICAN citizen.

If all other people from various nations can wave their flags and its just chalked up to their national pride, why can't I do the same thing and not be treated differently? Oh and I most definitely have been treated differently.. I've got some stories there.

But I digress, I think WE SHOULD ALL SAY IT and FEEL PROUD in doing so.
If you wouldn't stand for this nation, what right do you have being here?

(Yes, that might spark some controversy but I'll never feel differently so its pretty moot to try and poke at the above statement.)

Here you all go...................

I Pledge Allegiance

I firmly believe in this, The Pledge of Allegiance. I was born here. I'm a citizen. I grew up saying this in school and I know what every word is and means. When I was a kid the Jehovah Witness kids would stand, but not speak. I thought it was pretty hypocritical (even then, as a third grader) that they wouldn't pledge allegiance to the only country that allowed them the freedom to practice their religion.
If you don't like it, pack your Sh*t and move north, south, or wherever.
