The IWC (Haley Strategic) Thorntail Offset Adaptive Light Mounts (Scout)

Not intending to toss stones (or praise), Can you talk honestly, openly, freely, unbiased? Is it well built? Is it Long enough?, Short enough? You know what I mean. Share your thoughts. Likes and dislikes. Whatever they are.

I'm a consumer and will join in soon

i think you are talking about the haley strategic thorntail. I have one and really like it, its on my truck gun and i've had no problems with durability at all. i've got an inforce on it, i will try to get a pic of it, i do like the versatility of it and the angle. there are different models so I don't know which one you are interested in.

I am probably gonna get a different one for my surefire pretty soon and put this setup on another gun, I don't think Haley strategic is gonna put out anything that won't last

I have it set up so that my when gripping the rail with my left hand I just have to rotate my thumb over to the side to manipulate the switch for the light, feels natural and easy. I'm gonna get the sbr light mount for my surefire, I really like how tight it brings the light in to the rail

I was hoping for more response. People that bought them that, after mounting, it was not what they expected. I bought one and will be selling

Which one did you buy? To bad you're so far away, depending on which one you have I might be interested, I had one of his incog holster and did not like it at all and promptly sold it, I know his products are pretty good But I also know they don't work for everyone

    I bought the SBR model.
I got nothing bad to say about the IWC products at all. They're very well thought out.
Biggest issue I have with anything, images don't give you a hands on visual, and I don't like to play the game of buy, try and sell

(chuckle) I had feeling this would come up. If you're asking, you've already priced them out. You know what they're "worth". Shipping cost to you is reasonable. So, that given, it's more what YOU are willing to realistically offer.

For the record, and the fact I'm sure this is inappropriate per the forum rules, I had no intention for this to turn to a classified ad

I assumed it would place the light tighter to the handguard, and closer to the rail in both aspects. It fills that role nicely on a HG that has four rails. Not so on a Troy Alpha type

Correct. The mount you mention was considered. The more I looked into them it was not what I wanted. What I want in a mount needs to put the light tight to the HG, and tight to the rail. Somewhat like the Unity Tactical, Monkey Bar in concept, but a LOT lower and 90* to the top rail

By the way, did Unity Tactical attend SHOT this year? I'm not finding any reference they were there.
