Corporate earnings have soared to an all-time high. Wall Street is gaudy and confident again. But the heyday hasn't come for millions of Americans. Unemployment hovers near 9 percent, and the only jobs that truly abound, according to Labor Department data, come with name tags, hairnets, and funny hats (rather than high wages, great benefits, and long-term security). The American Dream is about having the means to build a better life for the next generation. But as President Obama acknowledged at a town-hall meeting in May, "a lot of folks aren't feeling that possibility anymore"
The people are going to revolt, and in many cases are very near revolt, but it won't be this shallow "civil unrest" the talking heads like to scare people with so they will get some more eyeballs. The revolt that is coming will be at the ballot box, and it starts this year, and we can all play our part. We can't let the fear mongers on the TV, and the idiot politicians, and the leftist intellectuals run around throwing the "Corporations" under the bus, that is strictly a distraction. Learn who your candidates are, if you look up there and see two piles of sawdust, one is hardwood and the other pine maybe you should think about running or encourage someone you know to run. Unlike every other country in the world we can have a revolution every two years, and for most of the last 200 have decided not to. It's time for that to change.

Out of curiosity did you guys read the whole article?
We all know CNN are idiots, but probably think so for the wrong reasons. This whole piece while stating what many of us consider the obvious potential for civil unrest, is saying we will do so out of class envy. It quotes newsweek:
So is that who we're mad at? The corporations? The business that has pushed our GDP up over the last 50 years? Employed most of our parents and grand parents, and raised most of us in comfortable homes where we didn't have to worry about whether we were going to eat that night? While the case can certainly be made that corporations have screwed us plenty over the years, it's still the government that is screwing everyone (corporations included) with it's excessive regulation and over-the-top taxation schemes.

Assuming that you guys have your mattress stuffed full already
Fiat currencies have no intrinsic value other than someone telling you it does. A mattress full wouldn't even heat your house on a cold night.
Wouldn't you stuff it with gold, whiskey, knifes, beads and other trade goods?
.... might get a bit lumpy I suppose......
I recommend that everybody rent the DVD, "Inside Job."
It does not question the superiority of Capitalism, only the criminal mismanagement of it.
