We've all seen the ridiculous prices around. Finally I'm tired of it and want to say something. AR's are available in stock at retailers. The prices are not ridiculous. The fact of the matter is that if you want to buy an AR it is more cost effective to buy one brand new from a dealer than to try to buy one private party. Heck, one of the supporting vendors on the forums just had one posted for $695 brand new!
Another thing I've been seeing is "Custom" AR's demanding $500 more for a UTG rail. Lets do math here. $850 bushmaster + $50 UTG rail = $1400! Gotta love new math.
Probably the must frustrating part of the local gunconomy is when you're selling/trading. People think its a buyers market, which it largely is. With the general economy being down there are some people selling guns and items just get supplement their cash flow or compensate for loss of income. I've currently got 2 ads on the forums for trades. Both of which have garnered a lot of interest. Unfortunately I haven't received a good trade offer yet. Only cash offers. The problem with the cash offers is they're way low. I think the attempted buyers are attempting to get a great deal on things because there are a lot of people just trying to get as much cash for things as they can.
I'm done ranting... We're in this crappy economy, don't make it worse by screwing other people in here
