Near as I can tell the oil and gas leases are the only real changes, the prohibition on Chinese infrastructure appear to still be in place

I started reading the article and it blames mostly the lack of natural gas infrastructure. Now, how many pipelines have been cancelled and or stopped since the "Big Guy" was placed into office?

A backhoe damaged a natural gas pipeline between Pullman and Colfax yesterday afternoon.
There is no gas to wide area including all of Lewiston and Clarkston. No heat, no hot water, no restaurants for a few days. 40,000 private, commercial, government customers are affected. (Me included)

Sounds like one doesn't really need to fear intentional terrorist attacks on power grids (gas and electric) but more worry about people being stupid with equipment

But it often is not them that suffer the consequences - rather they more often cause the consequences, and the innocent suffer.

In my neighborhood electric meters are getting replaced with "smart" electric meters. FJB is pushing for electric heating for everybody, at the expense of gas heating. When I put on my tin foil hat I can see that the government wants to control everybody's heating from a central government location, and the gas makes that too hard, distributed and controlled locally.

Vote wrong, no heat.

Dude we both live in states where we have to pay for the morons who vote so we both know how this works. Both OR and WA were NOT anything like they are now just a short time ago. Sadly the only thing that will change this is pain, felt pain. Nothing else seems to every work. So some real pain, felt by those who keep asking for this? Maybe more of the idiots will pay attention come election time. Until then we both have to live with this crap or up and move. So we make the best of it. So to me? Bring on some real pain and maybe some of these idiots will decide they have had enough since Wife and I really do not want to pack up and move to ID where one of the kids is lucky enough to be enjoying.

My area got smart meters years ago, maybe as long ago as Obama, so I doubt if it has anything to do with FJB. But it definitely is about control. A couple years ago PGE offered me a "free" smart thermostat ($400 "value") if I would just give them permission to remotely adjust it twice a day.

Yeah, right. How stupid do you think I am? (Don't answer that).
