I have no dog in the fight, I was just making a statement.
I also think we are isolated from a lot of it living in the PNW. The south and east is almost like a different country in a lot of regards.

I didn't make the statements I did to start another ur wrong debate, and anything in writing can be inturpidid differently by different people - look at how convoluted the Bible gets between sects that use it...

I applaud you Joe13 for taking the chance to write what you think! But others have just as much right to voice opposite thoughts... something you must expect.

Yes I agree that we live in relative bliss compared to other areas of the country. There are a zillion reasons why I live here and not there. But this BLM movement is not reserved to the south and east. So I'm not sure what point you are making with that.

BTW, I believe in English not inturdpredation. :p Anyone can twist anything. The point I was making is that her language (in straightforward English) that I quoted is full of inflammatory thinking. Do I really need to list item by item where she has gone wrong? These kind of angry words fuel the fires that cook under the racial stewpot. Then when it boils over it's nobody's fault?

Oh, I knew I'd take crap for my post - I trusted y'all enough to post it and accept the backlash it caused without it getting out of hand. (So far so good;))

I think I was trying to convey that the people representing BLM up here have no real clue about the differences the other parts of the country are dealing with - hell most of those protesters up here are white hipsters and entitled rich kids.

I think the name of the movement was not well thought out or has been misconstrued grossly and has added to the violence for sure.

Do I think what's been going on is ok - hell no. But there was a point to be made and I think that gets over looked for the most part unfortunately because of the radical nature of the protestors reactions and actions.

And yea, I failed English and had to repeat half a semester in high school - damn stupid language if you ask me:p. I blame my spell checker cuz I never make mistakes:D.

I realize my liberal conservative nature is not winning me many friends in this thread but I sometimes feel the need to play the devils advocate in these discussions.

@Joe13 its extremely important to stand up for racial equality and that includes questioning claims others make so you have my respect for that.

Oh I quite agree with you there. I think the black experience is mucho different in other parts of the country. And protest seems to be trendy again no matter the skin color or cause (I hate trendy, I dislike causers). Hipsters, anarchists, spoiled brats, and radicals too. IMO if people want to feel noble, they need to live and act noble. Giving lip service to an adopted cause don't do it. I lived thru the '60s and I just hate to see the country going back to that kind of turmoil.

Anyway, going back to The Fourth Turning... people got time to sit around and think this stuff up? And they get paid for it too? Oh dear saints of L. Ron Hubbard! It's like saying the weather is cyclical. Doh!

When race relations and equality shifted from a movement to an industry it started down the path of despair. With the current crop of "leaders" it has only accelerated down that path. The message is no longer positive and focused on improving everyone's life by lifting people out of despair, it is a grievance industry now bent on funding itself above all other things. For all of his faults, MLK firmly believed that "a rising tide lifts all boats" and focused on improving the lot of those less fortunate. We cannot say that about the majority of race-hustlers clogging up the media these days (and I'm not going to name any names on either side of the argument).

BLM may have been started as a positive movement (I'm sure there are people who agree and disagree) but, it was quickly co-opted by the grievance peddlers and worst of all, it does not offer any solutions for the people trapped in their current situation. Problem oriented speech does nothing for challenges that require actual solutions. The majority of the effort will be to change people's minds, hearts and actions and that can't be done by screaming at people, burning cars & buildings and shooting police.

Grassroots improvement happens with one-on-one conversations with your friends, neighbors, coworkers, etc. We aren't "races" at that point, we are just the people that we know trying to live our lives and help one another.

I question whether the 4th turning started with the crash of '08, or with 9/11 and its aftermath. It really could be either. But either or both provided the level of distraction that enabled the genuine power brokers on earth, to take leaps in their manipulations while the populace was looking the other way.
No matter to the average joe, the results will look the same out your front window either way.
But I believe this turning will be more global in nature and stature, and religion will play a huge part, with Islam the source. Much if not most of Islam was under the thumb of well schooled dictators until GWB made regime change fashionable in the wake of 9/11. Then came the Arab Spring (a CIA op) and regime change(s) became internal as often as they were externally driven, sourced from civic unrest.

And for those unaware, don't confuse "The Movement" with BLM. They are NOT the same thing. Oddly enough, BLM will/may claim they are, depending on who you ask. But if you speak with anyone associated with The Movement, they will set you straight about Shaun King, DeRay McKesson, BLM, and the co-opting of it for political gain. Complete with funding from the usual leftist-socialist sources, and a compliant media. And they're pissed about it.
