The mainstream media has been like this as long as I have been alive. If some story does not fit the narrative they just don't report it. The big media really put themselves in a hole and asked for a shovel this last go round. Which was great but, still a hell of a lot of people who get their "news" from these places.

Media...
Needs ratings and revenue .
If stories that told of how safe firearm owners were....or that having and using a firearm is a deterrent to crime...
Made for clicks , ratings and revenue....
Then we would see more stories along those lines.

However...
Crime , tragedy , shock valve , etc...all sell much better and collect much more in ratings and revenue than the above.
Not to forget to mention that if someone controls the media along with the language used in it....
Then it is much easier to sell , spin or push an agenda.

Much like Certaindeaf......I didn't click on the video in the OP.
But I ain't surprised by the news in it either.

While its true that if someone dies it gets more ratings than when no one dies, when it comes to gun control statistics the media does not report on the percentage of lawful DGUs or any statistical data published by pro gun researchers like John Lott.

Hollywood is run by FAR left and it shows. This again has lead to them really taking a hosing and they just can't stop now because so many at the top are so far off to one side. Kind of fun to watch at times.
