That's horse pucky. She resigned to preserve two things, and neither of those was the law. 1)By doing so, she enables Hickenlooper to appoint a democrat friendly to the rest of the leftist agenda, as opposed to a recall election where she would be replaced by a republican. and 2) She preserves any pension and benefits she's eligible for. Bennies she'd have lost if she'd been recalled.
We are going to win this thing if we don't back down, people. There's no stopping a person who knows they are right and who keep coming on
Here's much of the same story from Pravda.......uh.....I mean Yahoo: Colorado lawmaker facing possible recall over gun-control vote resigns The only downside to this is the electorate cannot get someone more conservative in there. But anyway we can get rid of idiots like this is good with me. I hope our state legislators are paying attention.
Sen. Evie Hudak quits Colo. Senate rather than face recall The Denver Post is reporting this morning that Colorado State Sen. Evie Hudak (D-Westminster) has resigned her seat – essentially falling on her sword to protect her party’s majority in the legislature – rather than face recall and the prospect of a Republican takeover. Another Win for us. While this won't stop Ginny Burdick as she has Portland as her district, hopefully it will remind some of the others that many Democrat gun owners may not vote for them next time around if they are gun grabbers. They should wake up and realize that there are more important issues here than pushing gun control. Like jobs, schools, and bringing business to the NW to help provide what is needed.
No, don't be holding your breath. As a matter of fact, breath up all the air you can before the Libbie/Proggies suck it all up.
On the bright side, she did save the taxpayers to cost of a recall election and, she's gone. Now just a special election to fill the vacancy.
She was in the State Senate. And, you're right Sounds like a need for a recall petition for the appointee as soon as the announcement is made!!
