Lift Every Voice Oregon swore that if the Oregon Legislature doesn't pass an "assault weapon" and "large capacity" magazine ban similar to IP 43 they will put this on the 2020 ballot, and it would likely pass in blue Oregon. This is their Plan B.
I hate to say it, but it would almost be better if the Legislature passed a toned-down "assault weapon" ban to keep IP 16 from getting on the ballot, because IP 16 would surely be even worse. The lesser of two evils. Being hung instead of being drawn and quartered.
Totally unenforceable, but they keep pushing. How exactly do they plan to register mags? There are no serial numbers on them to register? This is what you get when emotion writes stupid,,,
They're making us play whack a mole. They know it takes a lot of resources to keep fighting all of these attacks
"But we have to do SOMETHING for the kids!!"Thats the same thing I said when all the SB's got introduced and then LEVO came back up this year. Shotgun and see what hits.
Doesn't that say it all. They know it'll be unconstitutional, yet they keep pushing. Time for our side to go after bathroom gender confusion, abortion and all the things these socialists hold near and dear. Get them on the defensive with their pet concerns so they have no time to attack our Civil rights....This is the anti pushing 2020 IP-16 - FYI:

edit FYI: From the last paragraph of the IP:
"The people hereby declare that they would
have adopted this Chapter, notwithstanding the
unconstitutionality, invalidity and ineffectiveness of any
one of its articles, sections, subsections, sentences or
clauses."
Kommiefornia passed a law that requires a serial number on 80% lowers.
Just sayin'.

Whatever happened to the Counter Attack to IP 43 proposed by Jo Rae Perkins? See post 218 in this thread: Oregon - Counter Attack to IP 43
A constitutional amendment like this would take care of all this nonsense. Did this effort die with her campaign?
