We're lucky the Supreme Court has held that the Bill of Rights applies to the states as well as to congress and they applied that principle again in the D.C. case. Without the two nominees by Bush that split decision would have gone the other way. The two Supremes nominated by Bama will be no help. Liberal thinkers have little respect for restrictions. Their general mindset is "we're in charge here and who do yo people think you are anyway."

OK, they picked to support your side on that one issue, due to the same two justices they picked against every citizen of the US in the Citizen's United case, that now allows unlimited money to flow from corporations into our electorial processs during the last 90 days of an election. In short, a giant step against citizens right to representation, and by that, against the constitution. If your ideal pictue of a future america is one where big business and big government become one, form a tyrany, and dictate to the public, then you can thank your good buddies, the Bush appointed SC justices. While your at it why don't you investigate the sort of justices your man Bush appointed to the federal courts, they also believe that justice is only the intrests of the stronger party. Check out Precilla Ownes for a start, now there is a piece of work! I guess you don't care where this sort of folly is going to lead us as long as you have your pop gun, or at least until some group of CEO's decides that isn't a good idea.

See folks, the Citizens United case only affected McCain-Feingold's ability to regulate advertisements during the last 30 days prior to a primary election, and 60 days prior to the general election. And no, in this case 30+60 does NOT equal 90
Not to mention the FACT that the SCOTUS' decision was/is based on settled law from a 1st amendment case handed down in the '70s, when the court leaned to the left.
So the left and their union buds were "hoisted on their own petard," so to speak.

Oh please. You don't need admin/mod powers to find a significant or downright scary amount of information about someone over the internet, you just need to know what parameters to use.

I have to agree with bugeye on his original point. If a major incident involving firearms occurs the public opinion will shift. The American public has an attention span of a gnat and those who are neutral today will shift to the anti-side.
You guys got to distracted with the statistics and polls that bugeye used in his post and were to intent on disproving him, instead of focusing on the main point that he was making.
We basically have 3 camps:
1) pro-guns,
2) anti-gun,
3) who cares about guns; American Idiot is on tv.

When an event happens group #3 will all of a sudden become aware that there are guns and become alarmed, and then demand from the politicians that something is done about all these evil guns.

Or maybe you are wrong. I'm not the only mod here, nor would I collude with another mod to shut down a thread to silence you after having asked you a question, I wish to hear the answer as much or more than anyone. If you check my posts I don't run from challenges or criticism in the open forum. I try to make the workings of NWFA as transparent as possible.

The one thing I can't do is speak of specific members infractions in the open forum just as members can not, it's not fair to either party.

Again you are wrong. I didn't close the thread. When I close a thread I leave a note in the thread of why the thread is being closed. Whether you care to believe it or not I go the extra mile to try to bring threads that are in danger of being closed back on track so they will stay open which is exactly the opposite of the false picture you paint of me.

When someone is constantly accused of being a troll or a sockpuppet or has constantly had his posts turned in it is my job to do a little research and see just who I am dealing with, everything I can find anyone on the web can find also.

I see you failed in all that negativity cast at me to mention all the times I have publicly answered calls in threads to ban you, with posts that you have a right to have your say and no one gets banned just for stating their opinion.

The list of political experts on both parties, including John MaCain himself, say this single decision has ended campaign finance reform. I find this flow of money a danger to the promise of representation in the constitution, and so would anyone with half a brain.

This decision went far beyond the case in the 70's, actually it went far beyond anything that the defendents wanted from this suit, this is a clear cut case of activist judges reaching far beyond in order to make sure that the party that appointed them would be in the money, as that party represents unregulated business who are free to pollute, not pay taxes, and poison the public.

It could be 60 days and not 90, big deal,sheesh.

I'm not paranoid, I'm proud of my record! Just as you are proud, and apparently unrepentent, of your thug tatics.

The battle isn't over yet and if we keep on embracing BS, and using that as a means for the defense of our position on gun ownership, to both the outside world and to ourselves, then we are going to lose. We need good accurate arguments because the parties weighing this, will be armed with good accurate arguments, and they will know our BS for what it is.

Maybe we can send the forum selected uberbubba from the troll posts in here, to argue our case before them, heck after a 20 minute diatribe of contempt for the gobernment I'm sure they will be suitably impressed.

If we do lose our gun rights, we will be responsible too.

Thank you for being a moderator, it's a tough, thankless job, and as much as I kvetch about you, in reality you're probably way better than we deserve, lol.
