There is a huge division in this country the confusion and animosity is created as a soup of distrust leading to the suppression of more rights then just gun rights.

There are but 6 major groups controlling this outcome.

On the left :
  • A: Those who want all guns eliminated we call the far left.
  • B: Those whom think some gun control is needed we call the middle
  • C: Those who are pro-2nd but unsure
On The Right :
  • A: Those who say any restriction is unconstitutional far right.
  • B: Those whom thing some gun control is needed we call the middle
  • C: Those whom are pro-2nd are are unsure.
But A: in each group are the problem, its not the rights they desire that is the problem,
its that they will "NOT" support B & C on their own sides let alone the opposition.
Both B&C groups far out number Both A groups by a huge margin and that is where the tug of war begins. It will be up to both the B&C groups to make change as there extreme sides wont engage. Want to stop this chaos stop giving away your right to discuss your choice that scream and yell the loudest yet wont effect change they just cause separation and do nothing productive to secure any rights at all. Bitterness, anger and anonymity wont solves this both B&C must take back this power and give it back to the people.

Wow, that was pretty good.
Yep in a nutshell this is why we are where we are. "Gun people" choose to vote for liberals by deciding unless the perfect candidate is running they will not vote. Liberals almost never do this so they win. Some gun owners champion "common sense gun laws". That means add more laws to the ones the bad guys already ignore. Left takes anything offered in compromise then demands more when the laws of course do nothing. I have little doubt I will live to see some more gun bans. They will be brought about by gun owners. Very sad indeed.

Any restriction is unconstitutional. There I said it. Its been said before that we as gun owners spend too much time fighting amongst ourselves and I have to agree.
My question is if we have numbers on ourside how do we as a whole band together and apply pressure? I am a member of the NRA and OFF, I signed the petition to remove the NFA and I signed the petition to remove the Hughes amendment and yet our commander in cheif has time to address AR stocks but not the NFA??? I think its high time we had a new method because ladies and gents I do not believe our current COA is serving us as gun owners and as US citizens.

Media confusion and mixed messages seem to apply only to the creative middle classes. The proles are distracted by porn, the weekly lottery, and "primitive patriotism".

Keeping up with the false claims and contradictions could drive you crazy and so could trying to debunk them. Practicing and consuming journalism has become hazardous to your mental health. "The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears," Orwell wrote in 1984. "It was their final, most essential command." The point of modern propaganda isn't only to misinform or push an agenda. It is to exhaust your critical thinking, to annihilate truth.

Most everyone.....at least those who went to school in America. Well, they probably learned this.........

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Where does it say?

"It is reserved to the Congress to limit this right, if the Congress doesn't approve of what new technology might bring in the future."

But. It does say.....

".....shall not be infringed."

Was it a failure of the schools to teach the youth of America, that it means what it says?

Oh rrrright.....some were thought that the militia was the National Guard. And, the 2nd A was actually a collective right and not an individual's right.o_O

When Brownstain signed SB 719 into law I made copies of the bill and handed them out to anyone who would listen and it was disheartening to see how many read it and said "well it only applys to these people not ME". I couldn't bear hearing it so I stopped handing them out and simply went back to my job, such blindness and dark times. I even used a highlighter to identify the worst parts of the bill and yet the meaning was still lost.

You're saying that "A" on the right is the problem? I still don't understand how freedom and liberty as primary tenants are to blame. Kind of sounds like you're saying "compromising" away our rights a bit at a time is a better way to live?

What is unity worth if the product is anything less than what's promised to all citizens of the united states?

I'll not change my standards for the sake of unity and I don't believe that is a problem.

Sorry if I missed the mark here.

The consititution provides American Citizens with a Bill of Rights, which are endowed to us by GOD. These are not to be infringed upon either through regulations or purposefully misinterpretation. The problem with asking for laws around the use of your rights is that they ALWAYS move power away from the people and to government. This only leads to a larger government, that now has more power over our lives. This is not what our founding fathers intended.

No laws should be allowed that errode our rights, period, this goes completely against the ideals of Liberty and Individual Freedom. Upholding our rights as Americans should not be considered "far right", it should be considered our moral obligation.

But.... it's for the CHILDREN!!! THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!! :s0058:

I just posted in another thread- compromise not polarize. DuneHopper was not saying any side was right more than another. Just pointing out the make-up of the citizenry. Of course my thinking is the correct thinking. All believe that.
Where there is a problem is the Constitution can legally be amended, like say the Bill of Rights. Or Prohibition. Some good, some bad ideas. I definitely believe left group A has a sinister agenda and I want to eliminate it. I, like all here, also am abhorred by the killers of children and want to eliminate that. We have not enough gun laws, we have too many. More is not the answer. All need to focus on fixing the cracks and failures in the system. Start on that platform and plan and think, not react and shout.

I am on the far right at this time until the politians on the committees in charge are willing to follow the law/constitution. I don't want some made up version of the law where they can step on "a little" of my rights. When they are worthy, honest and transparent I will open my guard. This is directed to state of politics in Washington DC and the west coast. Maybe things are different in Montana or the fly over states.

How can we be asked to take a moderate view when the bases of the discussion is flawed? A compromise can't be single sided. Their opening statement is, we haven't removed any 2A rights. Yet every year multiple laws have been added to the books from California to Washington state. There is a de facto confiscation in all three west coast states now.
