Muzzleloader could be one of Doc Whites from Utah. Custom rifle from a great builder. Can't tell if it is but could be.

Rifle is most probably a kit gun "Dixie" (no dig on quality there: Dixie offers good kit guns). You/OFADAN might me right about taking a good barrel (White) and slapping kit parts behind it.

I'd be real suspicious about the "prison gun". Check those running cracks: do they go behind the medallion? if so, the medallion was an afterthought. (It looks afterthought).

Geez. Only good thing here is the source: garage sale. Ya can't default the seller for misrepresentation. Hundred dollars for the pair, hope you get rifling in the frontstuffer, and call it good.
