This past Spring and Summer, Trash No Land conducted 7 volunteer clean-up events at 14 different target shooting sites in Mt Hood National Forest, Tillamook State Forest and Yacolt Burn State Forest. We teamed up with 150 to 200 volunteers throughout the summer, who are responsible for removing an estimated 17,000+ pounds of trash from our public lands. Most of those volunteers were NWFA members! Well done, team! Well done!
We've distributed 4,000 "Target Shooting on Public Land" fliers, around the Northwest, promoting public land shooting rules, ethics and tips for safe shooting. Not real great coverage but it was a good start for our first year as a non-profit organization.
We have been actively involved in the planning of new shooting lanes and the maintenance of existing lanes on public land. These unique lanes are gaining in popularity and are seeing a greater sense of ownership from the people who use them. That's the kind of public land ownership we love to see!
We are all about promoting Stewardship and Responsibility in Recreational Shooting. We're all about welcoming new friends, and sharing good times, (not to mention eating well and winning prizes!). Next year, with your help, we will do more.
Help us restore our heritage of recreational shooting on public land. #GivingTuesday Nov 28 to Dec 31st, 2017.
