It was my Honor, Privilege, and Pleasure to serve!
I would do it all over again in a heartbeat, even the not so fun stuff! Getting to play with millions worth of equipment, doing fun and crazy almost daily and getting paid for it, what more could a feller ask! The food sucked when there was food, and getting your own could be a big challenge, but that was all part of the fun!
And it was Loud!

"Don't Tread on Me!"

Once I took an Oath
For God, Country and Family
I have never been relieved of that Oath
Don't Tread on Me!

My body may not seem strong
As once it used to be
But, be careful what you push
Don't Tread on Me!

We may not see eye to eye
We don't even have to agree
And just because I won't
Don't Tread on Me!

For I have been across the water
Sailed the open sea
Sweated in the desert sand
Don't Tread on Me!

I made it back from one tour
Then two and number three
Some never made it back at all
Don't Tread on Me!

I took an oath for the Constitution
I served my time willingly
Now you wish to take my freedoms
Don't Tread on Me!

I'll fight you tooth and nail
And others too, you'll see
We are the wolves among the sheep
Don't Tread on Me!

I don't go looking for trouble
Best to leave me be
But, if you try and push your agenda
Don't Tread on me!

There are countless thousands of others
It's "Molon Labe" we breathe
When you come for ours....bring yours
Don't Tread on Me!

Vietnam 101st Abn, 5/67 - Wounded and medivac out 1/68. 18 years old. Our job was to walk the mountains in understrengh platoon size and look for the NVA basecamps. Usually out for 60 plus days before we would come into the rear for a few days (I've told people this before and they say BS. Don't care. I know it is the truth.). We just turned in our M16A1's for A2's. They were still pieces of ****. Last photo is fresh off the plane at Camp Zama, Japan after 2 weeks in hospital in VN. Mt Fuji is in the background. To much air pollution.
