Watching folks on YouTube trying to explain away all these Sig P320 discharges is like watching the Dems trying to explain away Joe Biden's dementia.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck ... you know the drill.

Now - that being the case - I'm still gonna hold onto my Glocks, EVEN THOUGH Kamala owns one (not Glock's fault, so no guilt by association).

My opinion. Take What You Like and Leave the Rest.
"Brand Loyalty" lol.

I have to wonder if the holster was a Blackhawk SERPA, those have had a reputation for guns going off in them because of how they retain guns (by the trigger)

Internet fudd lore continues
There is a related and important distinction between the issues with Serpa (style) holsters and the P320 claims. Like @DirectDrive BRILLIANTLY notes below, there needs to be a full examination of the facts. A failure analysis investigation by competent individuals without a horse in the race. Meaning not Sig and not plantiff attorney hired guns.

With the Serpa, this was done, and fault was found. (2012 Homeland Security study found it was a human factor as a result of holster design.) There are also stories of folks who were not able to draw their firearms because of debris blocking the release. Having said that, I know plenty of officers who loved the holster and had operated it under stress enough that it would likely not be an issue for them.
The fearmongering is strong with this one.
How many victims today ?

That's been around the Internet for a while.
My 1st question is, how can the correct holster for a P320 allow the muzzle to be pointed at the wearer's leg when walking ?
Simple question. Why would that be ? Incorrect holster ? Improperly fitted holster ?

Lots of drama for the news station to sell, but not many facts.
Not many facts.

Light bearing holster ?
Foreign object in holster ?
Incorrect holster for model of pistol ?

Proper forensics examination of the holster and pistol ?
I'd like to see that report if it exists.
Funny how there's always the big splash, everyone gets their clicks and then radio silence.
Why is that ?
Something to hide ?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Meanwhile victims of the click-bait videos proclaim their new-found fears on social media.
Weird, but that is our social media world today.
Facts ? We don't need those. I saw it on Youtube.
This 1,000 times.

Many great points here. I carried a gun in a duty holster for years and it rarely was pointed at one of my body parts. When it was, it was because something was going on (i.e., contacting the holster) such as a fight, the holster hitting a hard object, etc, which is what I keep seeing in these videos. There is a deeper why. It may be a different 'why' from when Glocks were going off in the 80s & 90s.

Cops are high on the list for frequency of reporting these ND's
One of the primary reasons is that there is a job on the line and an ND on your record is not a good thing.
Better to blame the gun and hide your incompetence.
If a law enforcement officer is intentionally lying about what occurred with a firearm discharging, there should be demands from everyone, including fellow officers that he or she be disciplined or terminated for lying on the incident report...
I can accept that an officer could have a negligent discharge, I do not accept the officer lying about it or fellow officers accepting the lying as "just another day at the office"...
If an officer can not be trusted in this instance, they certainly can not be trusted on any statement they make regarding an average citizen or any testimony they may provide in a courtroom while under oath.

All the LE guys here are going to turn a blind eye to the lie if it means they keep their job. I have the exact same opinion as you.

As one of the (retired) LEO guys here, nope, I've posted this before. It's not acceptable for officers to lie. I've posted how I've known people who had NDs and fell on their sword and survived and others who lied and got fired. That's how it worked where I was. That's how it should be.

I do think there is a difference between a mistake of facts and a lie. For example, someone might be 'sure' their finger was off the trigger when they were holstering a gun, but it actually was. This is human nature. But I also think many of the Sigs that are going off are from other issues, not fingers, such as holster incompatibility, modified triggers, and other issues. (And I still have an open mind on the possibility of gun issues.)
