Hey everyone So I am doing a few things around the store including panning for ordering for the next year.. And I want to know what is in your bug out, or get home bag?

If you have had GREAT success with a preparedness product in your pack I would love to know about it!

I am also looking for locally made (from the northwest) products you love to carry in the store..

One thing I carry is a cooking kit... It's a 5 qt. blue enamel pot (non-aluminum!) . I keep 4 cups of pancake mix, 1 cup sugar, salt and pepper and a nalgene 1 cup of oil inside. Using these ingredients to supplement my food sources means what I carry will last much longer! Also I have a great way to boil water. Beware of the lightweight camping pots, as they will become useless soon after you stick.them in the coals.

Good Point. I have my evernew titanium 1.5 liter cook pot, coffee cup (with instant coffee myhlar packet in it) also, my primus alpine titanium stove and two 12 ounce fuel canisters in my bugout bag, also i have my pur hiker pump filter and exta catridge.

Also there awater purification tablets, a couple of cheap coghlans poncho's, hand warmers, lighters and now 2 -4 mainstay 1,200 calorie food bars in each bag.

Stock your store with books that make people think, organize and fully understand what they are trying to do. There are a number of books out there with a good idea of what would be nice to have in an emergency.

I don't have a "bob" I have a WTFJH (just happened)? bag.

Military MREs would be a plus.

Well I thought I would add a couple of notes here, since I have two duffle bags. One is a primary and the other is secondary with additional stores for extended time away.

I have a small emergency stove with fuel tabs in first, along with water purification tablets.

Second bag has my primus stove with fuel cans, as well my pur hiker filter.

I also have a couple of Photon turqois lams (for night vision) and one photon white lamp in each. A bottle of vitamins in each (to insure proper viamin and mineral intake) along with baby aspirin and tylenol, a lot of people will experience headaches and improper diets in shtf. there also some tampex in each one for females needs along first aid needs.

I also included a few glock or light sticks in each bag, they do weight anything at all and take up very little room, they can be used to light a crowded room for safety, scurity and calm nervous or anxeous people.

Another thing I have at home are several cases of sams choice cases of bottled water 24 x 20 oz bottles. I can grab a case or two and toss them in truck in less and minute. I always keep several bottles of water in my the side pockets on my trucks doors year round, I drink a lot of water and inveriably am thirsty while out running errands. there 6 bottles in the passenger side pocket and three in the drivers along a pair of work gloves.

I agree with the thought to have reference books on your shelf. You also might have a display of helpful periodicals like Backwoods, etc. For a bug-out bag section I would think that starting with a fair selection of bags, then fire, water, shelter and food; all with the thoughts of portablity. Might also want to let anyone who is planning on have a BOB in their car to camoflage it, I have heard of some bags being stolen WITH weapons inside.
That said I have: woolen socks, wool stocking cap, poly-pro long underwear, convertable pant/short, leather gloves with wool liners, wool shirt, knife, multitool, water filter (backpack version), lifeboat survival food bars, cash, lightweight stewpot (food fits inside for storage), first aid kit

I keep mine under the rear seat in my pickup, in a car I used to keep in the trunk, some people put them on the floor and buy a cheap rug of similar or same color as interior at walmart or where ever and lay over stuff in floor between fron and rear seat, usually these windows back here have a tint. making this a very effective method of camouflage.

Sadly Military MRE's are not legal for retail sale (not saying I don't own a few) :-( But we have Cases of Civi MRE's with and without heaters..

always reminds me of that movie where they guys like ask me about my wiener lol anyhow i carry the samething as most but anyone put a gas mask in their bob? i was thinking about picking up an israeli gas mask for like 20 on ebay
