You are a sick sick human no one likes your kind go crawl back under the rock you came from (the same as a garden gnome)

I am afraid I have to agree with you. Anyone that would engage in or condone animal cruelty is a lowlife. I am not a violent person, but that is something that would make me put my foot up someones backside. The type of person that would do such a thing is indeed a person that could use a good education in what it feels like to lose a valued pet. Of course that is not likely to happen, because even though they talk the talk online they would seldom dare express such opinions in person. Their dedication to their ideals usually stops short of actually defending them in person.

You are exposing your ignorance. Animal cruelty is one of the premier signs of future violent offenders.

whats the percentage of those who are cruel to animals that later go on to harm people? did you know that virtually EVERYONE convicted for child porn started with legal porn? basically 100%.

guess you're a future pedo :p

seriously, dude? i'm engaging or condoning animal cruelty? i might have to refrain from further debate with you on this topic if you're gonna be like that.

and i've lost dogs, including one i had to put down myself. literally one of, if not THE hardest thing i've ever had to do.

I guess you can't actually defend your stupidity so you resort to the ridiculous. Maybe you should educate yourself before opening your mouth in the future.

where's my lack of "education?" i've got something like 150 credit hours- YOU need to stop posting until you can do so in a rational manner. my comment was lightly making fun of your comment, NOT a personal attack. but the above definitely is.

seriously- take a deep breath and re-engage when you can do so without acting like a woman.

You are taking an ignorant and incorrect stance with your whole idea that abusing an animal is the same as destroying a lawn decoration. Animal cruelty is a felony and each count is punishable with fines up to $10,000 and up to 5 years imprisonment. You started with a gross misunderstanding of the law regarding damages and tried to use it as a basis for your heinous statements. That makes you not worth my time. If you have anything further to add why don't you PM me and we can discuss it in private.

those credit hours? all criminal justice.

i FULLY understand there's an invented crime known as "animal cruelty." it's my argument that it's an emotionally based crime only.

Ridiculous, over emotional response? I think most psychologists would beg to differ, as would every case study ever done on this subject.

"Invented crime?" What the heck is an invented crime? is murder an invented crime? Your statements lack rational thought. You initial statement is as baseless as it is heinous. Like I said, contact my via PM and we can discuss this further.

i'm not going to PM- if there's something that seriously needs to be hashed out, it can be done right here. if not, we can just drop it.

as this is pertinent to the OP- it's an invented crime, like any number of crimes that exists only to enhance the punishment for things that aren't otherwise illegal, or AS illegal, simply because people find them more upsetting. there were already laws on the books protecting people from having their property damaged by others- but because people put some extra value in things they decide to call "pets," they legislated that emotion into animal cruelty laws.

dont act like i'm condoning animal cruelty- and don't act like i'm saying i'm not just as guilty as ANYONE else for putting extra value into pets.

my point is only that institutionalized emotion is freaken retarded. it's the same mindset that's eroded our gun rights over the last century. people's emotions need to stay the **** out of legislation.

These are both overly emotional responses. Nobody was condoning animal cruelty. "Special" penalties based on emotion are responsible for the thought crimes we now have on the books. We don't need more of the same.

You can replace a fence or yard gnome in a couple days and never know it was gone. You can't replace a dog or cat like a lawn chair the next day. I have over a year into traing my bird dog and she is just starting to come into line at 16 months. Hours and Hours of working with her. You can't just "replace" a pet or hunting buddy at walmart. It's also hard to put a value on something like that.

Who cares what the DA charges them with as long as it's some type of felony and he can get it to stick! I'm sure they will cover all the bases to make sure they can get something to stick and put them away for a while.

That's not normal, and they didn't just do something stupid one night.

this should absolutely be taken into consideration, and it would be in any situation- if i jumped the curb and accidentally killed your bird dog, i'd be liable for replacing a bird dog, not just another lab from the pet store. i'd owe you full value of your property.

it matters. and while this definitely isn't normal, i really don't think it's necessarily indicative of future serial killers- that's jumping the gun by a long shot. nobody in here with that argument can answer my question "what percentage," because NOBODY can. millions of people commit animal cruelty as children and don't become sociopathic murders.

when i was about 15, 16, a friend and i got the notion to go hunt cats on the golf course in the middle of the night. we prepped for a few days, gathering our weapons and dark clothing and planning our big midnight safari... when the time came, and i had that air rifle and sword and fairway grass under my feet, i pictured some shrunken old lady calling for her Fluffy and Fluffy never coming home- and that was it. no cat hunting- not that night, not ever. couldn't do that to somebody.

but some kid with a little less conscience and a little more peer pressure- sure, i can easily see it becoming great sport. i don't give a flying fack about the animal- cats are worthless. but the OWNERS.... the little girls, the lonely grammas.. etc.. that's what kept me from doing it.

hate me if you want, i think this is probably about all i'll have to say on the topic.

These are the type of morons that deserve a public beating. They're the type that will take it further and further and just laugh about it. They need a good beat down.

And lol at the people making excuses for them, just wow... So since we let our cat out in the day to go kill mice and have a good life outdoors, we don't give a rats *** about it...yea, good logic.

Think life sentences for all three in wildlife management after extensive re-education.

They can renew their hunting and gun rights after proving themselves as responsible people.

But other than that 14 hours a day in texas hog hunting?... Alot better than us paying for them to sit around doing nothing.

I would rather people pay their debts in a positive way to help society. I for one would rather be working than sitting in county jail and the work is more valuable. Sentence these idiots to hard labor to build self worth as their own is lacking.

I may not like cats overly much, but I love what ever animal I have as a companion. These idiots are shooting pets?... Way too much time on thier hands and being dumb is going to cost them. Best of luck kids! You got what you deserved.

Rolling on the floor laughing my fracking @$$ off. No Sympathy here....... Get em guys!

I am by no means excusing the actions of the criminals at hand. Just amusing myself in a bit of a thread hijack.

But you don't see random dogs out walking themselves. Why cats?

At a minimum prosecute them as adults with a pleaded felony so they can never legally own a firearm for the rest of their lives. Give them 180 days each and the highest number of community service hours possible.

All I can think about are older people and little kids who lost their beloved pet - very sad. I have a sweet old lady neighbor that if this happened to her dog or cat it would literally kill her.

Teenagers do really stupid things but this is a precursor to doing really dumb things later in life. NO GUNS - EVER - for these idiots. They lost their right to own a firearm for life in my opinion.
