So far.... Ted Cruz appears to be my choice for next President... Have you ever heard his Father speak???

If he were Born in America, I would Vote for HIM, but since his son is American, that will be the Next Best Thing!!!

philip.... :D

Ted is my fist choice also. He's the polar opposite of the far left progressive Obama. He has represented conservative values near flawlessly, he also has the last name Cruz that could appeal to minority voters. The only issue I see is that he might be to "right wing" to get enough fence voters and he is a junior senator. (our guys blasted Obama for the same reason)
he will get his message out but I have no hope for him actually winning the primary.

I like Scott walker, think rand Paul has a chance because he's social liberal.

He would make the perfect candidate if he would live up to what he says :)
Cruz would he the perfect revenge for 8 years of obunga.

In a perfect world the Federal government would stay out of most social issues, it's really none of their business. Today's world can't live without big daddy but it would be better if the did what the original intention was.

Ted Cruz speaks about TX and Mexico in this Documentary that is on Netflix now.
What's happening in America now and the roots of the problems are nicely explained in this video.

I never Knew about Howard Zinn and his "History Book". Just one of the benefits of skipping college!
You parents with High School and College Kids, GET THEM TO WATCH THIS NOW!!!!! It might balance out what they are being taught now.

I saw it in theaters, great flim. I bought two copy's the day it came out. One is for loaning out to people and the other sits with the rest of my DVDs. After watching it the liberals at my work place continue to deny the greatness of our country.

I'd like to sardine pack them but we are all entitled to our opinions. Another great thing protected by our constitution they feel was created by evil slave owning Indian killing land ruling straight white men, and should be burnt with the rest of our country. because the USA represents unfairness, greed, and mass murder, and all that B.S
-- oh and land grabbers taking from Mexico and Indians.

WATCH THE MOVIE. (Buying it is better then Netflix so we can support like minded people to continue opening eyes)

Great Movie

Let me get this straight...

It seems to be the consensus of the previous posters that we need to divest ourselves of the Indonesian son of a Kenyan socialist and replace him with the Canadian born son of a Cuban communist guerrilla... REALLY?!? :eek:

Well, why the heck not. After all, Chicago elected the son of a middle eastern terrorist as mayor - and look how well they're doing. And electing both the son and grandson of American traitor Prescott Bush sure didn't seem to result in any unPatriotic Acts...

Call me square, but I'll try to find an actual American who has an actual interest in this country (and it's people) to vote for.

Ya, I know... wish me luck anyway, will ya?

Let me get this straight...

It seems to be the consensus of the previous posters that we need to divest ourselves of the Indonesian son of a Kenyan socialist and replace him with the Canadian born son of a Cuban communist guerrilla... REALLY?!? :eek:

Wow you hit all the hard spots didn't you???

I will answer the Cruz point in the Order you sent them:

  • Canadian Born:Yes. to a Mother who was an American Born Citizen, who never lost, neglected or despised her Birth Right.
  • Cuban Communist guerrilla: yes. He Fought the worse Tyranny by fighting the dictator, Fulgencio Batista. Castro's force's had many factors that only had One Common intrest: get Batista out of office.

~~~ One should ask then, What is Rafael Bienvenido Cruz, HISTORY after that? Prisoned by Batista. When he lived through the beatings while jailed, he was released, went to our U.S. Consulate in Havana, received a four-year student visa, And Legally entered the United States, where he worked Seven days a week to earn his degree at the University of Texas.
With a legal green card he took his Degree, and went with his American Wife to Canada, to earn the Most Money in the shortest time he could, WORKING towards ONE GOAL American Citizenship. He renounced his Canadian Citizenship when he became a United States Citizen.
Maybe the fact that Rafael Cruz, is now a pastor in suburban Dallas & is a staunch advocate for Correct Immigration Policies is a problem? With his visa he legally entered The United States, like many at that time, he asked for & NEEDED political Assylum, from the new Tyranny in Cuba.
As a Pastor, he Fights Tyranny to this day, I have heard him speak, several times.... He is as much an American Patriot, as Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin or George Washington.
Well, why the heck not. After all, Chicago elected the son of a middle eastern terrorist as mayor - and look how well they're doing. And electing both the son and grandson of American traitor Prescott Bush sure didn't seem to result in any unPatriotic Acts...[/QUOTES]
Hitting all the good spots again. I have zero issues with what you Wrote, ONLY with comparing Ted Cruz, with those above quoted folks.
Call me square, but I'll try to find an actual American who has an actual interest in this country (and it's people) to vote for.
Ya, I know... wish me luck anyway, will ya?
Ted Cruz meets all qualifications of being a Native Born Citizen, just as several other folks, whose American Parents (it only takes one) were temporarily out of the United States.
Both his Parents are (now) American, Both have zero issues in their history that would Prevent Ted Cruz from being a Real American Citizen.
The Only issues that are off for Rafael Cruz, is fightying against Batista, in the communist guerrilla forces lead by Castro, that does not make him a communist, only a fighter for the ideals of throw Batista OUT. He also had to bribe ( $$$$$ ) his way OUT of Cuba, which is:
1. Not illegal action by American Laws
2. Not uncommon, ~still~ under certain governments that are Tyrannical in nature.
Rafael Cruz, is a Christian Pastor who is as Patriotic to the goals of the United States Constitution ... Just like many other Americans who emigrated from Cuba.
I will put my money behind the First American Senator of Cuban descent, before any name brand Republican.
philip, a No Compromise Christian, a No Compromise Conservative... A VietNam Veteran who has Lived under Communism. And sees it infiltration into our American way.
One of the things that scared the jeepers out of the Founding Fathers was foreign influence
in our politics and government. They had created something unique in the world, and they
didn't want it to become corrupted by or seconded to foreign agents lest we find ourselves
once again subject to foreign tyranny even if just by proxy. Granted, their concern was
mostly, if not exclusively, focused on Europe - but that was the nature of their time and
life experience. Imagine what they would today make of Hilary 'ChiCom' Clinton (or Bill for
that matter), so-called 'American' multi-national corporations, multi-culturalism, and
diversity. That would make some wigs spin.
It's not taught in publik skool, not even in my day (civics having been removed from the
curriculum shortly before I would have been able to take it), but if you want to learn about
some real American Patriots dig in to what happened to some of the gentlemen who signed our
Constitution. Five were captured and killed. Twelve had their homes burned. Two lost
their sons in the Continental Army. Nine others lost their own lives fighting for
independence. That represents half of the men who signed. They pledged their wealth,
fortune, and allegiance to a new nation and the hope of a better future for their families
and their people. They meant it, and they lived it. Many of them lost much, some lost all,
but to the best of my knowledge not one of them turned their back on their brothers and
bribed an official of the Crown to let them flee the colonies when things got a little tough
for them.
Just for the record, Rafael Cruz pledged his allegiance to the revolution of his time,
ditched his comrades when the going got a little tough, and subsequently pledged his
allegiance again to two (2) countries of convenience while in pursuit of his own personal
fortunes. Well, not exactly true - he didn't bother with US citizenship until 2005 (after
having originally arrived here in 1957), but you get my drift.
Oh ya, he also disavows his former revolutionary comrades saying that he never really held
to communist ideals - it was all about removing Batista. Uh-huh. Well, maybe so, but since
circumstances also make such a disavowal a political convenience I doubt we'll ever know his
real motivation.
I can understand how you and others may find his story compelling. Fine, there is certainly
nothing wrong with it. But, speaking strictly for myself, this is not the guy I would wrap
in a flag and stand up next to actual Patriots like Jefferson, Franklin, Washington, or any
of the others.
As far as the son goes - well, he's just another dime a dozen snake oil salesman whose soul
belongs to his political brand and the high priests of Mammon. Beware.
I don't like or trust any politician but that being said if you really want to know how close they are to being like their fathers then just look how close they were to them. Obama wrote a book all about his life and anyone who paid attention would have seen he came from a dysfunctional family. That life is now a reflection all over the country, we have turned into a dysfunctional family.
Look at a man's family and you will see how he will govern.
frauhunter, ... you are welcome to your opinion... I took my info from various Conservative sources.... however, I did read some fantastic Lies from Salon, and other Progressive Directed websites...
You should look at Ted's WORK since his Graduation, and the Awards he has won, stuff like:
He was the first Hispanic, the youngest and the longest-serving solicitor general in Texas history. That says a bunch to me.
Cruz was also an adjunct professor of law at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, from 2004 to 2009. While there, he taught U.S. Supreme Court litigation.
that takes awareness of the topic, maybe that is an understatement.
During high school, Cruz participated in a Houston-based group called the <broken link removed> where he learned about free-market economic philosophers such as Milton Friedman, Friedrich Hayek, Frédéric Bastiat and Ludwig von Mises. The program was run by Rolland Storey and Cruz entered the program at the age of 13.
Cruz graduated cum laude from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs in 1992.
While at Princeton, he competed for the American Whig-Cliosophic Society's Debate Paneland won the top speaker award at both the 1992 U.S. National Debating Championship and the 1992 North American Debating Championship.
In 1992, he was named U.S. National Speaker of the Year, as well as Team of the Year, with his debate partner, David Panton.
Cruz was a semi-finalist at the 1995 World Universities Debating Championship, making him Princeton's highest-ranked debater at the championship. Princeton's debate team later named their annual novice championship after Cruz.
It takes more than Brains to achieve a degree from Princeton U, and his honors only speak for them self, not like our current POTUS who received that Nobel Peace prize or whatever, like it came from a box of cracker jacks... hey speaking of `bama, where are his scholastic records??? some transparency.
a few more simple to find facts:
After graduating from Princeton, Cruz attended Harvard Law School, graduating magna cum laude in 1995 with a Juris Doctor degree.
While at Harvard Law, he was a primary editor of the Harvard Law Review, and executive editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, and a founding editor of the Harvard Latino Law Review.
Referring to Cruz's time as a student at Harvard Law, Professor Alan Dershowitz said, "Cruz was off-the-charts brilliant."
At Harvard Law, Cruz was a John M. Olin Fellow in Law and Economics.
Cruz currently serves on the Board of Advisors of the Texas Review of Law and Politics.
all above Facts came from Wikipedia, not a Conservative based website, in the least.
I end this by saying Ted Cruz is only a human... he has erred, as has his parents.... but the issue in front of us is an election of a new POTUS, And I doubt anybody can match Ted Cruz's Publicly displayed work history..
The man has One LORD & Savior: Jesus Christ. His early education was in a Christian Academy, and personally, I would not dare to Judge Any mans Spiritual Life, I will though Look at the Fruits of his Walking with the LORD..... He has proclaimed that on Radio, I have no TV, so I can not speak of that source...
Ted Cruz has more AMERICAN patriot blood in his finger than most 100 people that are out there claiming to be patriots. At this point He has my vote. That may change but for now He is 1,000,000,000,000 times more of a man than Obamba is.
If some one that shows a track record of supporting our republic as it was intended to be to a level over Cruz then he will get my vote, but I see NO ONE out there that comes close yet..
Well gents at my age I tend to be cynical. Years ago I watched the Clinton copresidency tear this country apart to the point men, women and children were being murdered. We nearly had a civil war because of those two yet today the left wants them back in office. Can the American voters memory be so short that they would elect these two into office again?
Almost anyone would be better than the Clintons again. However I would like to know more about Cruz and what he will do for the country. All its going to take to let us know what he is really about is how often he uses "I" when he speaks rather than " we". Anyone paying attention will notice the potus today uses "I" far more than "we". Cruz needs to prove he wants this country to get back on its feet by giving us a plan to reach a goal. Otherwise he is just talking.
Give me a reason to vote for you Mr Cruz.o_O
